Can you advise 2 things trades used and cash left so I can offer suggestions. I suspect you have traded heavily to date looking at your main prems especially you Mid field. At the moment I would say your team is quite sound but strategy wise may suffer if 8 trades have been used.

MagpieMagic

Ablett ($721,400)    IN   Stanton ($591,200)
OUT   Carrazzo ($481,500)    IN   Johnson ($437,200)
ROUND 4
OUT   Shaw ($516,300)    IN   Carrazzo ($515,500)
OUT   Fyfe ($528,600)    IN   Selwood ($503,800)
ROUND 3
OUT   Hale ($406,600)    IN   Kreuzer ($418,300)
OUT   Pfeiffer ($126,700)    IN   Magner ($94,700)
ROUND 2
OUT   Broughton ($502,100)    IN   Bugg ($113,200)
OUT   Brown ($212,500)    IN   Franklin ($600,600)

CASH LEFT - $230,000
had to use 4 trades due to long term injuries in carazzo, fyfe, ablett, shaw

Ringo

I would hit reverse trades that you have done this week.
A word of advice in most cases the majority of coaches will assess LTI's as greater than 4 weeks.  If they are only going to be out for 2 weeks and they have bench cover will sit them on the bench as i am doing with Ablett for 2 weeks.
Do your Trade Carazzo to Johnson if you consider him to be a keeper but if not I would look at Carazzo to geary for extra cash and further price rises up to you.
Then I would do Smith to McDonald a definite as you need some rookies making cash for you.
You also need to look at fixng Falou and Wilson which should have been among you first trades. but with only 16 trades left need to be careful with them.

Sorry if I sounded harsh but you have made some characteristic rookie mistakes.  Laern from them for next year.

Tell me about it I live in Brisbane so that is why I value this forum so much.  Do not be afraid to ask any advice from the beginning as ther is no such thing as a dumb question.

#6
Hey guys, just hoping for a bit of feedback on my team as it stands.

DEF:    Deledio - Suckling -  H. Taylor - Waters -  Dempsey - Bugg - Hombsch       INT:   Ellis  -   Smedts

MID:    Pendlebury - Stanton - Boyd - Watson - Dangerfield - Magner   INT:    Shiel  -  C.Smith

RUCK:  Ryder  -  Giles     INT:  J. Redden  -  O. Stephenson

FWD:   Franklin - Tippett - Sidebottom - Waite - Zaharakis - Porplyzia - Cameron    INT: A. Kennedy  -  A. Hall

$120,000 in the bank, looking to downgrade Shiel or Hombsch to a cheap rookie after round 6 which will create the cash to upgrade Magner (could rise another $40,000 this week) to a toss up between Dal Santo, Cotchin or  K. Simpson. Those trades would also help me set up for a doughnut free Round 13, provided no mishaps...
Still wanting to tweak the FWD and DEF lines soon if things go my way. Feeling pretty positive about the risk on taking Dempsey from round 1, if he stays on the park!
Down to 14 trades. Traded J. Cameron in for D. Smith and H. Taylor in for Hurn for now, unless I reverse trades.

Too focused on the mids? It feels slightly risky but I'm diggin it. Thoughts appreciated! Cheers  :)

14 trades left? Season over. You'll do better by starting new, even at this late stage.

Sorry,  :(

Please don't. You don't trade to rookies who have already gone up in price, trade for ones who are about to. Hold, Hold, Hold! Don't do anything until your cash cows have peaked. Reverse your trades and don't think about trades in SC for at least this week.

You may be right  :-\

Season over? Why does everyone seem to think you need 20 trades left for the back half of the season? It's still likely that I will reverse the last 2 and sit for the week, but D. Smith won't peak until the seasons end (which is only another $35,000) and I can't justify leaving him in there scoring as low as he has been. Cameron is still $40,000 cheaper and seems likely to rise in cash a lot faster while capable of big scores. That was my thinking there.

I know using all trades so far seems a bit desperate but with a few injuries and poor starters, I've had to and I honestly don't feel too worried.
If everything worked out for me I would only be making 2 or 3 more trades before the byes, leaving 11/12 trades left from round 14. If that works out, would you still say season over?

BlackMamba

Well it's a big if. Everything needs to work out.

Unless your playing just for leagues, you will most likely be spending at least 6 trades through those rounds to cover 0s. You've seen all the carnage that has already happened in the first five rounds. Towards the end of the season, players may get rested, adding to the risk of 0s. It's unpredictable but most people try to have 6 trades left going into the finals as insurance.

Also, do plan to keep the mid pricers in your team? The number of mid pricers you have are too risky IMO (too inconsistent scores for my liking) but if you think they will do good then that might be ok, however chances are that you might be using a few trades to upgrade them later. You are missing Ablett, do you plan to trade him back in? That might take a few trades as well.

Usually, starting around rd 6/7, people do 1 downgrade, 1 upgrade each week until their team is completed. I am just not sure if you would consider all of the mid pricers you have as keepers.

deflekt

I'll be sacrificing a few 0's over the first 2 weeks of byes for a full team in round 13. Only want to use 2 trades over that period. Would like to upgrade Hurn and Porp at some point soon. Porp I will leave til he hopefully rises to around $360,000. I'm confident in him bringing in over 80 points a game with the occasional 100+.  Dempsey I'll hold for sure. Waters and Dangerfield could easily become 100+ players but I'll wait and see. All of those players, including Porp could keep their spots for a while if they hit their potential. Ablett I'll most likely pass on this year and look to make up that score and hopefully more across the ground in the later part of the season.

It is a risky strategy I know and will need a bit of luck on my side for it to play out!

There are a lot of hugely priced premiums as targets but I feel that this year could show that a lot of the up and coming guns will score closer to those targetted players with a swell relief on the bank.

This is the first year that I've really got stuck into it and analysed, maybe I am taking too many risks but that's a part of the fun hey!

What would you do in my situation? I like to hear views even if it does get me wondering if  my season is over!  haha Supercoach is awesome

BlackMamba

Well your trades this week: J. Cameron in for D. Smith and H. Taylor in for Hurn. Don't do them. Cameron won't enough money especially bringing him late. People usually say a trade is worth 200k. Taylor won't be a keeper type. If your ditching Hurn, get in a premium defender like Scotland. If you wanna downgrade Smith, downgrade to some1 like Pfiffer (although not sure about JS) who is on the bubble and bank the cash for now.

Personally I'll leave Hurn. He is pretty decent for SC, I think he is just in bad form.
