Unless Ablett is out for the season, or close enough, then keep him.  You're going to want him at the business end of the season, and selling him is a waste of a trade (two if you want him back). Yes having him on the bench is a pain, but he is currently the highest priced player for a reason and you will kick yourself in a fortnight when he is back on the park.

Also remember last week a lot of people traded Heath Shaw for Carazzo on the back of his injury news.  Now Shaw will be back in the next round or two whilst Carazzo is gone for at least two months.

trade Ablett to Selwood if Ablett is out for 2 weeks i cant afoord to be a premium down due to my shocking score this week. Plus it will give me more money and i can then upgrade a rookie to a premium next week!

im sure the person your playing against this week will have ablett to. trust me keep him and think of the long term affects. if you trade him out you will have to trade him back in so waste of a trade. but all the best.

you atleast have got to have a plan. You cannot just trade out ablett without thinking of getting him in later down the track! Most people looking to trade out ablett have some sort of plan where they are able to upgrade players and get ablett back in without losing too much money or trades. Even those plans i would disagree with but in the end it is your supercoach team. Ablett wants to play and he will play when he feels right, which is probably before the doctor recommends it.

1. Have you made a lot of trades so far??? Most people are around 20 trades left which is a tad lower than you would be wishing at this point in the season. If so then I would hold because you will need them later on in the season.

2. Given the fact you dont have selwood at the moment i doubt your close to the top (correct me if i am wrong), so points isn't as dire as it would be if say you were ranked in the top 3k or so.

He is too good to trade out because of a possible 1 or 2 week injury

I think ablett is too expensive to trade in and out atm. Doubt my cash cows will have made enough to cover 721k in 2 to 3 weeks time without unnecessary culling to rookies who aren't on the bubble yet.

Yeah but what if Ablett is out for 4-5, then what? My point is you can only go on what is initially reported. Its anyones guess sometimes. In the case of Carazzo you can predict these things and you just have to put it down to bad luck.

if he is out for 4-5 we'll find out that in a week. - hopefully!

you gotta hold him for a week, we get to see 2 teamsheets & 1 lockout. its a huge call!

Not necessarily, Hodge was meant to be out for only 2 weeks at the start of the year and we still havnt seen him

At his current price you might have to double trade to bring him back in. Not worth it, although going back 3 years ago, I traded Ablett (adductor injury) for Sewell & L Power and these 2 guys were going at around 120 points per week, then I traded Ablett back in the week after he returned. It helped me win the league in the end, but I can't see it working this time, there are no gun prems that have really bottomed out.

Colliwobblers

don't trade especially not to jellwood he and his team need a couple more weeks to click into gear by then ablett will be back.

what was said above re opponents also having ablett is true, and the way injuries are going this season two trades could prove costly for you down the road (yes two - you WILL trade him back in again)

upthemaidens

if he had of got injured in the first half and scored like 30 points, then u would know he will lose a bundle of cash and trading him out and in 3 weeks later wouldnt be so bad.  just think he'll have to be kept, though im scrambling to see if i can wrangle a decent trade situation with him.

:-\The thing is with GAJ is that if it really is a knee injury, there is no one that really comes back well from a knee injury for a good year afterwards and the other thing is,, is who do you trade in that will get those scores. The answer is NO ONE!!!!! :-\[/move]

Ummmm, Super Coach wise Joel Selwood is averaging 128 so he is well and truly up and going.

Ummmmm,  :o you for real, It's a minor knee injury mate he will be 100% in 2-3 weeks. Not sure why you would even say a good year afterwards!?  ::)

upthemaidens

in 3 weeks GC play GWS, they will want him for that must win match...  so fingers crossed its 2 weeks out and he comes back and hits 150+ vs gws
