Not winning more than 5 games priority picks come at the end of the first round. We can thank Melbourne's tanking for that rule

nah then, they won't. For a couple of reasons.

firstly, the afl actually got rid of this rule this year, it's no longer quantitative, and is more qualitative. Basically, priority picks will only be handed out to clubs who have been struggling for years, and will keep on struggling.

since the rule only came in play this year, it's already been stated that no clubs will be getting priority picks this year, or next year most likely. As well as that, they look at a clubs current composition and number of high draft picks- with GCs and GWSs potential, basically the afl won't be giving them priority picks... which is the way it should be.
