Billy Longer has been one of 4 changes made to Brisbane side. Leuey, Beams and Obrian have been dropped as well

Does this change your plans?

Jarred Redden (Port) is being rested this week

Good news for Lions is that Black is back this week and playing Jack Crisp who I suspect will wear the vest.

He has been among the better players in reserves the last couple of weeks so deserves his chance to be elevated.

Some info on him but was not expecting hoim to be elevated to Seniors this week.

Background
• Hailing from Myrtleford in Victoria’s north, Jack Crisp is a versatile utility who has been known to play roles as a tall midfielder and across half-back / half-forward.
• He averaged 18.8 disposals (including 11 contested possessions), four marks and more than seven tackles per game in the 2011 TAC Cup competition and went on to win the Murray Bushrangers’ Best & Fairest award.
• His performances also earned him selection in the 2011 TAC Cup Team of the Year.
• He was selected in the Victoria Country team for the National Championships where he was noted for his hard-tackling and one per centers. In fact, he averaged 15 pressure acts per match throughout the carnival.
• After catching the eye of AFL recruiters, he was invited to take part in the 2011 AFL Draft Combine where he finished top 10 in two events - standing vertical jump and kicking assessment (in which he scored 83 per cent). He also set a personal best in the 3km time-trial.
• He was disappointed after being overlooked at the 2011 AFL National Draft, but was invited to join St Kilda’s pre-season training squad in a bid to get a second chance via the Rookie Draft.
• But the Lions pounced first, claiming Crisp with their third round selection (Pick No.40 overall) in the Rookie Draft.

What Murray Bushrangers Coach Darren Ogier says:
“Jack has had a super season and has developed into an outstanding player.”
“His work rate and ball handling skills have been exceptional.”
“Jack is super athletic, can play anywhere and his character and attitude are beyond reproach.”

What Lions National Talent Manager Rob Kerr says:
“We thought Jack Crisp was a chance of being drafted in the National Draft.”
“He is a 190cm midfielder who takes a good mark and is strong in the clearances. Our coaches will no doubt help tidy up his rough edges, but we feel there is enough improvement there to make him a worthwhile investment.”

Tabs Backup Ruck will come from Merrett has been used in that role in the past.

Sounds like a promising player for the Lions. would like to see him line up at the half forward line and not as the sub sounds like the type of player the can pop up and kick a few majors. Cant see him getting a lot of game time in the mids and defence and don't see him starting as the sub of Simon Black is coming back. Could also cause problems in the Suns defence

.

very suprised they dropped Longer, thought he was one of the better players.. Maybe with Renouf back as well Redden may take a while to get back in Port's team as well..

Be great if he can be another Rockliff who came to us also via the Rookie draft with our last pick in the 2008 Rookie draft.

There really building a good side up north, One of the best young midfield lines going around. Would like to see them take a huge leap forward next year and reach top 8.

To think if Vossy never got Clarke, Staker, Fev and Raines they would have another 4 youngsters and Henderson who they would love to get back now. They could of reached top 8 this year

Why would they drop Longer  :o

Ringo

Pulled up a little sore after taking over from Berger and Rucking against sandi.  Suspect as he is only 18 that he may be nursed through the season as you would not to risk harming long term ruck strategies.
