i believe aaron edwards is an extremely underatted player. He is underrated by other clubs and a general wide football community. Now thanks to Drew "Dish" Petrie and, Hamish "not sure what his nickname is" Macintosh, i think edwards will probably get the most goals for north. the best defender take drew and the next best takes hamish and then there is a spear defender that sits infront of drew. This leaves the 3rd-5th best defender on him, depending on the form on thomas campbell and harvey(if he goes forward). If Edward's didnt take one of the top 15 biggest marks of all time (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYqC6MPA_zI) he probably wouldn't be known at ALL.
Im sure many people will disagree, some may even agree with me. This is just my opinion and i would love some feed back.

Thoughts?

McIntosh nickname is Hmac (well thats what i call him)

IM not sure about kicking the most goals, he will battle hard for that spot with petie. He is a little up and down but when he is on he is hard to stop, much like petrie. Having Petrie, Hmac and Edwards up front as the tall options is pretty good.

He is underrated, yes, but not to the extent that you say. When you say he wouldn't be known at ALL, that's an exaggeration because he is well known. His kicking is amazingly accurate, which is important, especially with the amount of behinds we have kicked in recent times (it's not all Lindsay Thomas you know)

Got a good pair of hands, presents hard all day long and has a great kick on goal. What more can you ask for in a forward?

TheMailman

Many players are underated for a reason. I'm not saying that Edwards is a bad player (his accuracy is freaky) but he still has quiet ones like most forwards. Certainly one of the better forwards in the competition though

Theres nothing better than having the ball in the hands of the most accurate kick on goal in the AFL, especialky when he plays for your team!

I think he showed that he's got what it takes to be an excellant SMALL (maybe a medium but not tall) forward i havnt seen him do much crumbing but he was on the weekend if he can add that to his game he'll b a gun.

Yea i may have been a bit fired up when i wrote this, when i say he would have not been known at all that is an obvious exaggeration, but i did forget the publicity he got for his kicking last year, it wasnt much but there was a bit of talk. Nothing compared to when majak does something

Exactly, I think he can be classified as a medium forward. At about 180-185cm (pretty sure?) he's not exactly tall timber, which is good because we already have enough of that in Petrie, HMac, Goldy, Pedersen, Hansen etc etc but he certainly is a target because of his great marking and has a great leap. He can be a good crumber, but not quite in the league of Campbell, Thomas, Garlett, Boomer, Wellsy etc. Which isn't a bad thing. Some may say you are either a tall or a crumber, Edwards is a both, and does both quite well which is great for versatility. eg if Petrie goes down (touch wood) he can easily replace him as a target.

I wish he took the mark after the siren against essendon

roo boys!

Yeah I know! No offence to HMac, he's a pretty good kick, but most ruckmen struggle with set shots, let alone with that much pressure, so I wish a number of different people took the mark. But hindsight is a wonderful thing I suppose, what would we be saying now if HMac had slotted it? Haha.

Just a solid player who can have both quiet and monstrous games. If he can become consistent, then he's underrated, but for now, in my opinion, neither nor ;)

We would have lost by 3, not 2 :P If we make finals by 0.0001%, you know who to owe it to ;)

had a shocking game in the wet. He will bounce back at etihad, the only problem is we have GC so not really a big game

roo boys!

So did all the marking forwards on the ground really, not many goals were scored from set shots so you're right, he should do well against GC at Etihad. Good opportunity to hopefully get a bag.
