I have noticed that a large portion of swans team originated from other teams

i.e Shaw, Richards, Mattner ect

how many swans were not originally swans

anyone else noticed this???

Ziplock

yes? it's a pretty well known fact... sydney are given a lot of kudos for the ability to rehash players into more valuable members...

Justin Bieber

Armstrong, Morton? lol both spuds

Kennedy, McGlynn, Everitt, Mumford, Seaby, Spangher and Tommy Walsh.

There is probably more.

AFL is nowhere near as big in NSW than Victoria or SA. This is NRL territory

Sydney has had to adapt and make use of other "recycled" players seeing as the main focus is Victoria. That's why we're so unique :)

We may pick up players who you consider to be spuds (Everitt, Spangher, Kennedy) but we make good use of them and that's what we build our club around.

We have some NSW players i.e Craig Bird but most of the good nsw players go on to play rugby or play AFL in Victoria (i.e Brent Stanton)

Hence why we get that regional draft pick from NSW

How can you call Armstrong a spud? He is only 22 and showed a lot of potential when at Adelaide. If it wasn't for him wanting to go back to NSW the Crows would have kept hold of him. He will be a great player running off the half back flank or down the wings ;)

I agree with Boomz. :P

The fact that you didn't realize until this afternoon about the amount of recycled swans players amazes me. I thought it was a well known fact by everyone that knows a bit about the AFL.

McRooster

How about Kieran Jack, pure Sydney, son of an NRL Legend.

*I agree with Zippy and whatlez, Armstrong was from the school of Angwin.

Lewis Johnston (Armstrong's replacement from Sydney) has kicked 7 goals from 3 matches this season for the Roosters in the SANFL and been a focal point in Josh Francou's planning. Maintaining this form will be the key to opening the door to his AFL debut with Adelaide.
That is the difference beteween Johnston and Armstrong, Lewis is trying harder and harder, a player evolving - whereas Tony kept thinking he could coast bye on natural ability. Good luck with that Sydney, you are the kings of revival.
