Hall of Fame and Hall of Shame, by Dr Dickhead and his mediocre score ;D

COULD anything else have gone wrong?

It started on Friday night when Collingwood star, and Dream Team dependable, Scott Pendlebury scored just 61 points against Carlton.

On Saturday Melbourne rookie James Magner picked up 48 points - his lowest score so far - and then Freo's Nathan Fyfe hurt his should and was subbed out after 22 points.

The pain inflicted on my Dream Team continued on Sunday with Adelaide's Scott Thompson finding only 59 points, and West Coast's gun ruckman Dean Cox managing just 72 points against Greater Western Sydney.

It was a weekend of carnage. I finished with 1,902 points, a total I'm hoping will be my lowest of the year.

Hall of Fame

It is impossible to go past Gary Ablett as round three's Hall of Fame induction.

Ablett has started 2012 in incredible form. He's the first player since statistics have been recorded to gather 40 or more disposals in three consecutive games, and he continues to be Gold Coast's one-man band.

On the weekend against Essendon, Ablett scored 162 points. He had 45 disposals, laid seven tackles and kicked two goals. There could not have been a more complete performance and it was reflected in his Dream Team figures.

After three rounds he already sits 54 points clear of Western Bulldogs skipper Matthew Boyd, who is the second-highest scorer in the competition.

It's a phenomenal effort and Ablett's a phenomenal player. He's well on the way to being elevated as the first legend of the Dream Team Hall of Fame by the year's end.

Hall of Shame

Ablett's former Geelong teammate, Steve Johnson, gets the nod in this round's Hall of Shame. But, rather than a what-on-earth-are-you-doing shaming, this is just a quiet nudge to push him back to his Dream Team best.

Johnson could manage only 60 points on Sunday in the Cats' loss to North Melbourne, taking his average over the first three rounds down to 76.

It isn't a terrible number for most players, but given Johnson cost coaches $530,000 at the start of the season and averaged 107 points last year, it's certainly a slow start.

The slow start has been costly, too. Johnson has dropped $49,000 (the fourth highest drop across the competition). With a breakeven score of 148, Johnson is likely to drop further in value next week, making him a prime upgrade target.

I am tempted to give you a 'boo' just for posting his guff here  ;)

Doyle

Jeez, pretty obvious Gablett is in the Hall of Fame, and Hall of Shame should be someone who many coaches have, I dunno about Johnson, but I don't think there are many who started with him
