Do u guys think the wet will suit them up in sydney?

On form sydney hav had terrible scond halves so if north play four consistant qtrs like last week no reason  y they cant come home with the cup  :o

We are a HUGELY based stoppage team. Absolutely HUGE. One of the main points of Sydney is that they don't score a lot but they lockdown the other team. Rain is probably the worst situation for you guys.

Also yeah our 2nd halves have been pretty ordinary. It'll change though  ;)

crabapples

I think i disagree  :P

I think north will win in the rain with 200+ handballs and 20 kicks ( to kick our goals)

roo boys!

Like Mails said, Sydney love the stoppages. No reason why we can't beat them in that area though, the midfield is a real strength of ours. Ziebell, Basti, Swallow, Wells, Boomer are all great stoppage players. Add guys like Liam Anthony and Patch Adams in there and you've got yourself a midfield!

Can't forget the young guys either, Atley, Cunners, Harper, MacMillan all capable of playing in the midfield, although some often don't get too much opportunity too.

TheMailman

No reason that either side can't win.

I'd say that no Goodes cancels out the home ground advantage (almost) so should be a great match

Holz

I think i would prefer there was no rain, i think it increases Sydney chance of winning but playing sydney in the wet at the SCG is one of the biggest tests in AFL, I think whoever comes out top in this game should scare a few teams.

If the Roos win i think it should firmly put as a final contenders, if sydney can win they look like the real deal. You never want to play sydney in the finals however you are (unless your the 1996 Roos ;) )

roo boys!

Yeah that's the admirable thing about Sydney, you can just never write them off, you're never fully confident coming up against them because you know they will give it 110% and push you to the limit, no matter who you are.

Mummy out, good look seaby against the Hmac and Goldy

TheMailman

freaking hell the first important game of the year and we are already without Mumford and Goodes.

Don't discount Seaby though. He'll do a servicable job against the combo

crabapples

i didn't even notice no mumford if it's proper wet probly not a massive advantage anyway

roo boys!

Hmm, lots of stoppages = lots of ruck contests but he can kill you in any conditions so I'm very happy about Mummy being out

SydneyRox

Losing mummy will not help us, but we got smashed in the hitouts vs Sandi two weeks ago and still won the clearances.

Rain will make it a close game, a kick or two? Home ground will count, a win to the swans.... just.

CrowsFan

No forecast of rain for tomorrow SR. Meant to be 26 and partly cloudy ;)

SydneyRox

No rain will make it easier for NM :'( :'( :'(
