ADELAIDE forward Ricky Henderson faces tests this week after suffering soreness in his hip during the Crows’ loss to Hawthorn on Sunday.

The Crows host AFL newcomers GWS on Saturday evening and face the possibility of being without Henderson, who has suffered soreness in shoulder and neck as well as his hip.

Crows midfielder Richard Douglas won't be available for at least another three weeks as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

BRISBANE big man Matthew Leuenberger left Patersons Stadium on crutches and in a visible amount of discomfort after suffering a possible Achilles injury on Saturday.

While the Lions played down the seriousness of the injury, the important ruckman struck a distressed figure as he left the Perth ground with his teammates, after losing to Fremantle by 29 points.

Brisbane are already without star on-baller Simon Black, who is recovering from a broken hand, but in better news for the club, inspirational skipper Jonathan Brown got through the match unscathed.

COLLINGWOOD on-baller and fan-favourite Luke Ball will undergo a traditional knee reconstruction this week after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament during the ‘Pies’ loss to Carlton on Friday night.

Ball, who is just eight games from bringing up his 200, will miss the rest of the season in a heart-breaking blow to him and to the Magpies.

The Magpies also lost key big man Ben Reid to a quadricep injury in their deplorable loss to the Blues.

Collingwood say Reid will be out for up to three weeks with the injury.

ESSENDON’S injury woes worsened in their great escape win over Gold Coast on Saturday night, with defender Courtenay Dempsey going down with a hamstring strain.

Dempsey was rated a slim chance to take on Carlton on Saturday, with football manager Paul Hamilton admitting to SEN that the club’s recent spate of soft tissue injuries is a concern.

The Bombers already have David Myers (hamstring), Nathan Lovett-Murray (hamstring), David Hille (calf), Jason Winderlich (hamstring) and Mark McVeigh (calf) in rehabilitation for soft tissue injuries.

FREMANTLE midfielder Nat Fyfe could be out for up to three months, if the Dockers opt to send the rising star to have surgery on his troublesome shoulder.

Fyfe suffered a painful shoulder subluxation in the Dockers’ hard-fought win over the Lions and was subbed out of the match. The club has hinted it intends to take a cautious approach with the future star.

GEELONG premiership defender Andrew Mackie copped a heavy knock to the face in a collision with North Melbourne forward Lindsay Thomas in the second quarter of the Cats’ shock loss on Sunday.

Mackie was subbed out of the match with damage to his nose and mouth, replaced on the field by first-gamer George Horlin-Smith.

GWS GIANTS look set to receive a boost in the coming weeks, with prized No.1 draft pick Jon Patton to make a playing return in the NEAFL next weekend.

Patton has been involved in a strict rehabilitation program for his knee, which included a trip to snowy Sweden for ground-breaking surgery on the joint.

HAWTHORN’S injury list lengthened considerably after their crushing win over Adelaide on Sunday, losing Luke Breust to a concussion after a sickening collision with Crow Brodie Martin.

The Hawks say Breust suffered minimal damage in the collision and will be monitored this week.

Hawks midfielder Grant Birchall suffered a calf strain, while big man David Hale dislocated his finger and young ruck option Broc McCauley was a late withdrawal from the match with a virus.

MELBOURNE co-captain Jack Grimes suffered a heavy head knock during the Demons’ 59-point loss to Richmond on Saturday.

Grimes could also come under scrutiny from the match review panel for his sling tackle on Tiger Daniel Jackson.

SYDNEY may be without inspirational Brownlow medallist Adam Goodes for Round 4 after he was booked for a slide-in tackle on Port Adelaide’s Jacob Surjan.

Goodes’ Swans teammate Kieren Jack could also come under scrutiny for his tackle on Power skipper Dom Cassisi.

WEST COAST will sweat on the availability of star on-baller Daniel Kerr, after he copped a cork in his calf during the Eagles’ big win over the Giants in Blacktown.

Fringe midfielder Bradd Dalziell also copped a knee injury in the match.

WESTERN BULLDOGS backman Brian Lake could be in for an extended break after punching Saints youngster Tom Simpkin on Saturday night.

Lake described his actions as “silly” and a “brain-fade” and could face a similar sanction as Geelong defender Matthew Scarlett copped for his hit on Dockers pest Hayden Ballantyne two weeks ago.

Bulldogs youngster Christian Howard is listed as five weeks away with knee trouble.

I hope Lake isn't out for more than 2, even though it's more likely that he will be :(

Yeah, I saw it. Don't think the bloke was hurt, bit clumsy once again from Goodes.

If he gets a reprieve, he is straight in for Fyfe.  ;)
