Lol...neither.  Carlton had them beat AT SUBI, WITHOUT gibbs and kruezer in the finals.  But nup.....cant call the absolutely blatant, obvious hold glass has on walker in the goal square.  If you say this isnt a free...then you are delusional.  Every replay shows glass , nice dirty big wrap around the waist.....but hey its ok.

So if the eagles make it...it will be the typical 25 on 22 rubbish we see most weeks.  If its fair footy ( perish the thought) they finish out the 4....and are gone 2 finals max.

Carlton look scary, and play the cats very very well.  Eagles? Pffffftttt......gave them a 60 point lead at home minus selwood and still nearly got em.  And when it mattered in finals...were touched up after 2quarters.

Glass was clearly pushed in the back before Glass held him. Thats why the umpire paid it correctly.

Do you know why? Because glass is an extremely smart player and reads the play very well (all Australian full back). He grab walker because HE KNEW, that walker had his hand all over his back and the only way to stop him was to put his arm back to hold him... HENCE THE UMPIRE CALLING A PUSH IN THE BACK. disagree or agree with the rules, but they are the rules.

Secondly, Scott Selwood owned Chris Judd and we hammered Carlton at their home ground (don't forget that one buddy, Carlton were terrible that day).

West Coast were the better side last year for reason. Who has improved more since then... they both have improved a great deal, game on this year... but don't for a second pull your the umpire was on their side crap.. it was lost fair and square … by Walker's inability to play the game to the rules under pressure in the dying minutes.

I was wondering which of the first 2 responses to +1 to, then you laid that out. Perfect analysis. I think Carlton will be above West Coast this year, but last year was settled fair and square. If Carlton can even get close to losing after kicking the first 4 goals in a final, they didn't deserve to win.

I'm really looking forward to Carlton vs Eagles clash(s) this year. They have both improved a great deal and both have very different game plans...

Eagles - Tall forwards who are very hard to control by backs in the air, great clearance players and a solid lock down plan for locking it in the forward line

Blues - Small forwards who are very hard to control by backs at ground level, also have great clearance players and have a nice free flowing running game style

I'm really looking forward to it to be honest then any other clash this year....

Yeah same here, regretting getting Shaw and Broughton rather than Scotland and Deledio that's for sure... Murphy is looking like he will be top 3-5 mid's this year too... but I guess there is still time to jump on him after the rookie's start to peak about a month from now.

As for Pendles, certainly going to hurt those who went with him, but thankfully my league opponent has him, so I'm not as disappointed as others (was happy that he had Cloke, and decided to play Morris over Clarke too!). It's fair to say that most people have him anyway, and there is no way he will perform at this level again this season (at least I hope so!).

Pleeeeeaaaasssseeeee Pies supporters...don't blame Nathan - it is NOT his fault!! Anyone who thinks Eddie's wonderful 'masterplan' a few years back was kidding themselves. Know it is very early days for the season but Mick was clearly not happy to be put in the situation he was and had to go along with the 'grand plan.' I really hope this season proves how much of an arrogant tool Eddie really is. He deserves whatever negativity comes his way for being a fence-sitter and not being able to make a hard decision at the time (by sacking Mick way back then) and then trying to market his 'bold plan' as 'visionary' ... it so much reminds me of the US spin on "Weapons of Mass destruction" - but don't get me started on that one!! haha..

I just heard (a little while ago) on the radio that Luke Ball is out for the year with a full knee reco... I've got to say that I think he is one of those sorts of players that are so damaging to lose - like Hayes at the Saints - a heart & soul player.

It will suerly - on top of losing Krak, Macafffer, Davis - make winning the flag this year very, very, very difficult - hat's off if they do, but with that many injuries & interrupted preseasons for Dids, Johnson, Brown, Reid doing his quad... Wow, it is going to be an extremely tough & testing first year in charge for Buckley. Good luck to him - I think he might need it this year.

This is the Collingwood rant thread, isn't it? So much talk of other teams I feel the thread has been derailed.
I realise this is 5 days after the abomination of Friday night's loss to the Filth, but I stayed until the bitter end and I've been busy since, unlike some I suspect of herding out when the game was clearly lost to find the nearest method of spilling vitriol.

I woud like to think that is not Collingwood. We stay until the end, win, lose or draw. We do not bronx cheer Pendles for dropping an elementary mark, then taking another. We are not Richmond, who would bag their players and coach. We haven't had the best start to the season for various reasons; injuries, red-hot Hawthorn (to whom we lost due to inaccurate kicking), maybe new coach, maybe new game plan: but I am not yet panicking. Unlike cheating Carlton, we will not bottom out to pick up draft picks (Kreuzer, Gibbs, Murphy). If we have to play rag-doll Sinclair, Big Witts, Tom Young (who I rate), Luke Rounds, so be it.

As for DT, Swan was my first-picked and captain. I agonised over trading him out, but the whopping score Gazza (as C) returned justified the move. Sidey is good value, Heater and Clarkey, not sure, but Pendles will never play as bad again.

Maybe 5 days later no-one will read this, but I had to spill my vitriol somewhere. The wife doesn't want to know!

Stay to the end, Magpies! If country train-catching people like me can stay to the end, drivers and Myki sufferers can.
