I was tossing up before the start of the season how to structure my defense the best way( I.e whether to go with 4 premiums, 1 mid pricer & rookies to fill the rest ect).

I ended up going with 4 premiums & 1 unique mid pricer & the other 4 are rookies.

I'm contemplating trading Shaw to either Waters or Dempsey & might use that $ to upgrade someone in my forwards as I feel I'm a bit light on there. What you think, here's my squad:

Backs: Goddard, Deledio, Brichall, H. Shaw, Hanley, Bugg, Mohr (Morris, Ellis).
Midfielders: Ablett, Pendlebury, S. Thompson, Boyd, Magner, D. Smith (C. Smith, Shiel).
Rucks: Sandilands, Giles (Redden, Stephenson).
Forwards: Franklin, Fyfe, Sidebottom, Dangerfield, Martin, Cameron, Smedts (Hall, Paine).

What does everyone think? Good idea or not worth it?

not sure who you are considering as you mid pricer down back? hanley doesnt really fit the bill with his price tag.

anyway, you need to get kennedy into your forwards, paine is rotting away on the pine.

a) Your fwds are fine, not weak at all, other than Paine
b) Don't trade out Shaw. He'll improve

True I guess you could almost say 5 premiums but 1 as a unique. Fair point mate.

I think your right in regards to Kennedy. To be honest I think getting him in for more than likely Paine will be my only trade this week.

I think I'll back Shaw in to bounce back against the Blues. I had Waters in my side for almost the entire pre-season but changed my mind at the last minute & put Shaw in cos I was worried about Waters durability (As I am every year haha).

Thanks guys for both of your advice.

Kennedy in for Paine and start Kennedy.

I would have put Smedts and Paine in different lines so you can use the DPP
