Coniglio or Shiel OUT for Greene?

I plan to trade Greene in, he looks a better bet to make quicker cash than Coniglio and Shiel at the moment. I'm thinking of trading Coniglio based on what I've seen from the first two games... do you think he should go, or Shiel?

Shiel

I'm torn on this one, I initially thought Coniglio was the better choice out of he and Shiel, but now I'm not so sure.

Thanks guys!

I'd stick with him. What are you going to do with your quick cash anyway? Premiums wouldn't have bottomed out yet and can Greene keep this up? No way he can IMO.

do u have a dpp in ur mids?  u could trade greene in for 1 of ur underperforming forward rooks ( hall dickson) then u could keep ur mid rooks which are still better scorers then most forwar
d rooks this year

neither - there will be plenty more gun rooks to come throughout the season why burn a trade when you have 2 decent rookies getting games?

think docherty, zorko, adams, treloar, neale, pfieffer, couch, just to touch on a few - make your cash off who you have then go to the next one after he has played 2 games, there will be many more...

Sorry to hijack the thread, but i'm in the same situation. I'm not really after the money, but chasing points... I would love to think Coniglio will lift and start scoring well. But Greene has done well in both games and looks like he can get lots of the ball.

I know Coniglio will go up in value also, but can you see his scoring increasing quite a bit soon? The extra cash going to Greene will be nice bonus, but i'd be kicking myself if I didn't do the trade and Greene kept getting awesome scores...

cant help you with that one matt1985 i have caddy coniglio shiel ledger and magner. 3 of them i need to start, ledger will play a full game and score a ton like i expected him to do when i picked him - OR he will be traded to macdonald.

can even caddy at $250K outscore greene can cogs can shiel? i would say the first 2 could easily but will they?

my only concern with greene is he gets a lot of touches but that doesnt mean he is playing well and there will be a lot of changes this week, i think if he survives the cut this week (adams, treloar and others due a game) he might be worth the trade, but even if he stays and someone like treloar and adams comes into the midfield will greene still score as well, will he be sub any tyson given a full game?

Go with your gut :) but in support of your argument even if greene doesnt score as well he at least will be the one that makes the most coin...

Rommas

I'm trading Coniglio out, purely for a money reason, frees up around 40k and Greene will end up making a lot more than Coniglio with his low B/E

It's all speculation and luck really. If only we had a crystal ball to look into and see the future! If Greene is selected, I think I may take the punt and get him in. As you said, even if he scores average he will go up most in price... Would be nice to get a premo mid a bit sooner then planned!

Some good points here...

My other options are: Kerridge for Greene, but this leaves me with 3 GWS players in the mids.  Bit worried about that, but it might be a better option than losing Coniglio altogether?

I would do Kerridge for Greene. You will have probably upgraded/downgraded at least 2 gws guys before the byes anyway so it's not an issue. Kerridge hasn't even played yet and with the current crows team he probably wont get a game any time soon.

I think this makes good sense. Thanks!

Yes trading out Keridge makes MUCH More sense!

Yeah, I'm really not sold on Greene. I think a lot of DT'ers don't actually watch the games. They assume that because he's averaging 100 points he must be tearing it up.

Fact is, what I've seen of him I've been fairly unimpressed. He gets a lot of the ball, that's it. His disposal isn't great, he doesn't seem overly quick - he just has a knack for appearing behind the play, uncontested for the cheap ball. He's like the opposite of Prestigiacomo, great DT game, not a great AFL one.

On that note, I've been much more impressed with both Shiel and Coniglio and I think Sheedy/Chocco will have been as well. Greene will likely get dropped in a few weeks' time - Sheeds and Chocco will get slagged unmercifully by the DT population - but it won't surprise me in the slightest.

disagree with you here. I was at the Giants v Roos game on weekend and Greene does not appear behind the play getting cheap pill. he was one of the few GWS guys who seemed to know where to run to space to be the next link in chain of play. he often got a lot of ball from 15-20m kicks out of defence (and lets be honest, the Giants have to chip the ball around down back as they are under so much pressure). yes Greene's disposal is pretty woeful, but hey, how many of the Giants can you say arent in that boat? Also, they put Greene up with Sheedy in the post match press conference, instead of going with someone like Cameron who kicked 4. read what you will into that.

Shiel and Coniglio both looks really, really lost at times v NM. Shiel was a sheepdog, running to wear the ball was going, only to not get back out in space or really go in and get it ala Callan Ward. that might be his role, but he struggled to get into the right positions. Coniglio was only slightly better, but im sure he will improve as the yr goes on.

Shiel and Coniglio? ;)

Fair enough, agree to disagree mate. Hard to get a read on a lot of these players after just two rounds, but that's the name of the game for us unfortunately. I'd be curious to know which of Greene/Coniglio/Shiel you have in your team, and when you got them?
