imo, atm your up to scratch players include frawley, magner and trengove/watts to lesser degrees.

I think its going to be embarrassing for you when we play.

I'm just happy we're fixtured against you twice this season- knew I should have put money on melbourne for the spoon.

The way GWS has chosen to recruit has suggested to me:

They knew they would be beaten in almost every game in year 1, so they accepted that fact and used it to its advantage by virtually sewing up the wooden spoon (to further enhance their future prospects with another Number 1 pick). The reason this is true is that they have gone after young star players (Palmer, Ward, Scully, Davis) as they will mature with players like Shiel, Coniglio, Patton and Cameron. However just for some insurance to attract supporters they chose to obtain Cornes, Brogan, Power etc. so that they would not be getting flogged (records broken against them) causing them to lose fans. In no way has GWS recruited to win a game this year, they have recruited to form a powerhouse group of players that will all be at that stage at the same time (4-5 years from now). So in short they have written off this year, as they would rather take 0 wins and the number one draft pick along with aquired young star power (Scully, Davis and Ward), than a minor say 2-3 wins and the number 2 pick and have taken players as GC did (eg. Brennan, Harbrow and Bock) and been slightly competitive against the bottom end teams in the first few seasons.

So basically your club knows they will not win a game this year, and are choosing to cover it up through Kevin Sheedy, in order to gain future advantage through an entire period with all players at the same age or there abouts.

I know that was the original plan. But there was one thing unanticipated.

What your saying makes no sense. You just lost to North Melbourne by more than we lost to a top four contender in West Coast at Patersons and your calling us shower. Doesn't that mean you are worse?

you forgot thier best player Jones! come on now Zip you got to give them that one - should have been skipper things might be different - green wouldn't be sulking instead of playing for one maybe...

moloney will be back this week too

I would say if melbourne is this bad when they meet in round 13 GWS might be good enough by then but round 21 will be even more likely for the GWS win....

still Melbourne have a lot of outs - sylvia - gysberts - jetta - machete - green (oh no he's there ..... is he?)

Ziplock

nope.

WCE mighten't even be a top 4 contender for all we know- they've just been playing failure teams.

we'll continue this discussion next week when GWS have played WCE, and actually shown some spine, unlike melbourne :P

So where exactly is this spine you were talking about Zip?

And this is with Priddis, Embley, Rosa and Glass out.

CrowsFan

They did get a better result than Melbourne did. Plus they showed some fight and won the final quarter...

West Coast also had key players rested, while GWS also had Home advantage (not that thats a whole lot of advantage).

Anyhow i think we'll just have to wait till round 13 to settle this.

Ziplock

they were overpowered in the first quarter completely, but they showed far more resilience in the 2nd-4th.
