you see that BIG chunk of GOOD scores, well that was when Broughton was released to run on the ball in that place called the MIDFIELD.

We all got a nice article talking to Lyons a few days before lockout round 1 talking about how Broughton had already made the move to an onballer last season and how he would play midfield on the ball this season.

Of course it was all shower. same old broughton will be used like the dog he is wherever the coach needs him most, pity he isnt out of contract or he could like so many others have said "put me in the middle or i'll go to GWS" ;D

no one to blame but ourselves nothing in print in AFL is ever what it seems. Time to accept the broughton that was and trade him out, or hold onto him in the hope of another stint on the ball... optimistic IMO with the two M's coming back in...

Well said and I completely agree.

Mundy ready for Lions: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/132829/default.aspx

With Michael Barlow ready to progress to full game time after two matches as Fremantle's starting substitute, Mundy said there was a chance he could be eased back into the team in a similar way.

What are people's thoughts on: Dickson -> A.Kennedy (likely to make considerably more $$$)
Broughton -> Hargrave (Leaving me with $194k in the bank)

I started with Hargrave over Broughton but was stooged by that article just before round 1 stating Broughts would spend alot of time in the middle. Swapped them at the last minute  :'(

I'm just glad that this thread is of no importance to me - bullet dodged  ;D

Thanks for not making a new thread!
I reckon the Dickson > Kennedy is a smart move as you will make more money and kennedy's JS is better
If your sold on getting rid of Broughts i think that Hargrave is a good option

I'm thinking Hargrave in for Broughts too. Cash would be sweet and Hargrave's record against Saints in the past great, around the ton when he was up and running. But then again, Broughts banged out a 139 against Bris at home last season. He may not play mid, but can still freewheel off half back. Although, if Rockliff is looking dangerous up forward again Broughts could be wearing him and shower it up. Gotta go with gut or head on what you reckon will happen (or both if they agree). I'm 50/50 at the mo, but that cash would be nice in the bank  8)

couldnt agree more here. there is so much stuff with broughton, and lets be honest, those who keep him will at some stage get rewarded (hopefully!) and those who dont will no doubt get a better option. I look forward to hearing all the comments after this weekend when he either spuds it up again or tears it up, one side will be crowing and the other sooking.

personally, im trading him out. with Barlow ready for a full game and Mundy on way back, I simply cant see how Broughton will get big midfield minutes. he hasnt done enough in the first 2 games to justify putting him in there when the others are resting. The argument will be ''well Duffield is out this week, he will take his role'', that's fine, but Duffman will prob only miss 1 week. what happens when he returns?

im simply cutting my losses and going broughton to birchall. if greg rips out some scores, so be it, my opinion is i will be ahead come end of season.

With everyone jumping off Broughts, i'm thinking of bringing him in...

Hopefully he has a couple more mediocre games and cheapens right up before kickin on.

If this happens I'm just going to pack up and delete my team and start research for next year.

With Brown looking to come back in this week and Black out I can't see Rocky playing forward. Brisbane would have to use him in the midfield this time around

for the record, I'm actually keeping him- golby is a more pressing concern for me :P

Interesting. Id keep Golby over broughts just because he will rise in value if he gets another game of which he should.

I have downgraded Broughts to milera which wasnt on your list on monday afternoon, looks to be a great cash cow.

Ziplock

isn't milera a fwd?

I'm dropping golby since the games about points, not cash. At least when broughts is shower he still scores 70s, rather than 40s.
