Why would you want to trade Swallow? WHY?

You have Shiel, Conigilo and Neale yet you want to trade Swallow?

tigers123

because in hindsight it was not a good idea to get him because i doubt he can keep up an average of 90....

if i traded him i could upgrade smedts to hargrave so extra points all round...

tigers123

and wtf would i want to trade conigs or shiel yet?  ???

TheMailman

You really haven't made this clearer. What did you expect out of Swallow when you picked him? He certainly wasn't going to pull out 2 150s for you. It sounds as if you wanted to trade him from the start.

He's provided a 90 and a 100. You have the luxury of having already picked him while you have Shiel with 50s and Coniglio with 60s and Neale who hasn't even played a game.

So why do you want to trade Swallow out? St Kilda and Adelaide aren't the best teams but they're in the middle tier of AFL clubs.

+1 keep him mate

hardnut

Given you've picked Swallow I'd roll with it for sure, he looks quite reasonable for a mid-pricer and has certainly sharpened his game from last year so I think he actually could go along at ~90. Enjoy the ride for a while and when a premium takes a dive trade up then.

Holz

i thought this was going to be trading in swallow not trading out, is going really well, if you want maybee straight swap him to barlow in a few weeks or use him as un upgrade to a guy like rocky or gibbs

tigers123

ok cheers guys :)

so you reckon it'd be worth holding on to him and therefore not getting hargrave? maybe upgrade smedts to marty... and/or broughton to hargrave?

hardnut

I wouldn't be going Hargrave unless you picked him from the start. Broughts will slay Hargrave over the course of the season imho.

Hargrave and Lake destroyed it when chipping across half-back was in vogue. Now not an option as fast ball movement is key hence crappy scoring backs in general. The Bullies slipped into that slow ball movement mode for a while against the Crows which gave Lake/Hargrave points but wont win the Bullies many games.

yeah hang onto him he is on the ball, basically wherever the ball is he is much impressed with him in a shower outfit he is shining - if ablett can do it so can swallow - to a lesser extent, shine in a poor team that is.

The barlow comment is genius - the guy is a dead set GUN - with a price drop to come, and swallow will have a rise, if you can go two weeks without barlow smashing a ton you can make that trade or another but for what you paid 100 average is fine for swallow and he isnt going to go backwards, he isnt going to be a keeper either but NO RUSH to trade him out unless some one you REALLY want is about to go up in value a LOT.

Neale from what i have hear is all you should be looking at trading to any rook greene probably about to make owners $80k just for having him, and if he puts out another ton theres another 70K one more another 50k get on that don't have a non playing rook this round over one thats about to make everyone who owns him $80K

tigers123

ok that really is a good idea! and i'm sure rocky will be coming down in price a bit in the near future....

the only problem with neale is i don't have enough moneys to trade him to greene... so i'd probably have to do a double trade... i could go broughts -> clarke/hargy, conigs -> greene or longer -> stephenson to get enough cash

tigers123

or just go neale -> clay smith...

broughts to waters malceski hargrave dempsey clarke about anyone is better that that spud (i have him  :-[ )

conigs - greene is ok if you have to but i would rather do broughton trade / stephensen isnt worth the trade really gets you no benefit other than the cash for greene.

or just hold off see if neale plays and trade him to macdonald after round 4 if he hasn't ( if you don't have macdonald) instead of greene - macdonald will make more money in the long run has better JS too, just will be a couple of rounds behind greene in making you the cash.

Windigo

Keep David.

Don't trade just for the sake of trading. His been good.  :)
