Dickson only played 1/4 of footy and got 25 points and 8 touches, that's not bad for a rookie. Keep him.

Thought about it for a second and then realised Milera played against Port and GC, can't really read too much into easy game like that, Even though they did lose to port, but you what I mean

Hall looks ok to me as well, I would hang onto them and save your trades.

Didn't play so well against the Saints but look good against the Crows! I am sure he will pull some big scores soon.

Yes I'm going to need to ship out a GWS player before the 1st bye. But getting rid of Dickson doesn't change that as they have the same bye anyway. Dickson -> Greene looks like the trade, if you've got a MID/FOR in mids...

Interesting... I can do this but this will not help me out as much as milera in terms of the bye structures... would like to have a rd 13 rookie in the forwards as opposed to dickson as they can easily be used come rd 13 to upgraded/cashed in for either a rd11 or rd12 premium/rookie and not only save a donut in rd13 but the bye trade will have been used effectively and improved my team. I'm a little worried about how many rd11 rookies i have atm, but many will have been cashed in come rd11 - that's the idea anyway :-\

Yeah that is the idea. Unfortunately the byes are just something you'll have to trade to avoid at the time. Alot of the best rookies are round 11 rookies. Good point about Milera's bye, I've only got Franklin & Martin copping a bye in round 13. But part of my plan is to have the MID/FOR who was in midfield (Kennedy, for instance) playing in the forward line instead of unrealible cash cows starting (Hall & Cameron). I can't have Milera come in as F7 and start pulling 30s for me like Dickson & Hall have done. Greene is scoring well enough to compete with Magner or McDonald for a midfield spot, but as we've seen with those two already injury or suspension can happen at any time. He'd start for me this week with McDonald still out.

I'm about 90% sold on the Dickson -> Greene trade, I just feel that Greene's form is irresitable - any other situation when a rookie pulls out two huge scores, nearly everyone would be all over them. Surely a fair few infront of him at GWS will get the chop before he does and in the meantime he's averaging over 100...

I think you're right. Milera, although very impressive, is probably quite risky. All to often do we see a third score of 30 odd and a small price rise prior to the rookie being dropped - which would be worse than the potential rookie problems i may encounter come the byes. This trade would take my tally of GWS rookies to 10! :-\

It'd bring me up to 8 and needing 1 midfield & forward line trade (Shiel & Cameron?). It certainly does make it a different situation for you... if you can plan the cull before round 11 correctly it'd be ok but that plan is a risk in itself committing to as you're forced to get players of a particular bye just for the sake of it - not great.
