Yes will definitely wait a week on Ziebell.

@Charliesheen:
haha if only if only i had Ablett captain ;) But nevermind that.
If I were to bring in Longer, which i have considered, who would be best to take out? Cox or Mummy? That would definitely give me more cash to get some bigger scores out of a premium elsewhere in my team.
Dickson, sorry, wouldn't be going as i already traded him and forgot to update my team on this thread. The calculations work out that at this current time, i would have rougly 500k to spend, which leaves me to hope that Pendlebury, Nick Dal Santo, S Thompson, Rockliff, Swan and Gibbs will go down a lot due to breakevens higher than 150. Followed by S Selwood, Masten, Ward, Hayes, Bastinac and Mzungu who may be in reach, depending on the exact calculations.

Lose Cox b4 mummy - nicnat up and coming.

Pendles, NDS and Selwood junior for mine, probs should be in that order, but i have a soft spot for NDS!

charliesheen

As above.  Also be tempted to take Murphy over Pendles.  Should be able to buy Pendles cheaper in R7.  You still have Paine?  Can get rid of him through the trade.

I do not know what to do...

DEF: B. Goddard, B. Deledio, N. Malceski, G. Broughton, T. Bugg, B. Lake, S. Morris (B. Ellis, B. Smedts)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, J. Selwood, M. Boyd, P. Dangerfield, J. Magner, D. Shiel (D. Smith, C. Smith)
RUC: D. Cox, S. Mumford (J. Giles, J. Redden)
FWD: L. Franklin, S. Sidebottom, M. Pavlich, A. Kennedy, J. Porplyzia, D. Martin, T. Milera (A. Hall, J. Paine)
CASH LEFT: $56,800
(I've underlined starting rookies)(Also keep in mind Lake is suspended this week)

No one wants, and no one thinks trading Premiums is ever a good idea, unless its a pretty bad situation.
I've had a few scares with Broughton, Mumford and Pavlich getting off to below par scores, but Martin has suffered the most!
He's a fwd/mid. Has a breakeven of 152. His next three matches are Geelong (Away), West Coast (Etihad) and Port (Away). His average is 75.67.
I don't want to lose easy games because of Martin lagging behind, if he is a player of difference. He should be performing better as a premium; and i honestly think he should be traded. His value will definitely go down, and i am also starting to feel that he indeed had a chance of becoming better this year, but maybe was a bit overrated. In my heart I am prepared to trade him. If i trade him i would want some guaranteed scores, and if i dont trade him, i dont want to see another score under 90.
Apart from maybe Nick Roo, Tippet, Harvey, Lewis, Hale and Waite, but even then, there are no good options left in the fwd.
If i swap him to the midfield, it gives me options such as S Selwood, Shuey, Ward, Masten, Hayes, Bastinac, Lewis, Barlow, Mzungu and Ziebell. None of those are really solid superstars, and therefore to get an extra 100k or so, a downgrade would be required. It is very early for a downgrade to be quite liable, but if it should be done, Lake's (300k) out for a week and has only been averaging 71 anyway, with a BE of -4. Him and Porpoise are the only ones that would make me enough money. Meanwhile Stephenson, Tomlinson and Newnes are the only biggies on the bubble. And Longer and Koby Stevens to join them soon.
So many different possibilities, each with their own risks!

Please help! :)

Not against the idea.  Would not bring a mid, because you still need to bring in McDonald.  Most likely Paine > McDonald next week.  So really if you want to sideways trade, it has to be a forward who will average in the 100's.  Assuming Martin continues to do crap and average 85-90's.

If you watched Martin closely last year (I did) you would know he has a big scoring potential and is inconsistent.

I'm keeping him and so should you. You'll thank me whe he gets that 150

Luigi197

Yeah; ive made my mind. not trading.

My Current Team:

TEAM NAME: Italian Stallions
DEF: B. Goddard, B. Deledio, N. Malceski, G. Broughton, T. Bugg, S. Morris, J. Paine (B. Ellis, B. Lake)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, J. Selwood, M. Boyd, P. Dangerfield, D. Shiel, D. Smith (J. Magner, C. Smith)
RUC: A. Sandilands, D. Cox (J. Giles, J. Redden)
FWD: L. Franklin, S. Sidebottom, M. Pavlich, J. Porplyzia, D. Martin, A. Kennedy, T. Milera (A. Hall, B. Smedts)
CASH LEFT: $66,600

OK. I WANT CASH!
I need to do some smart thinking to prepare myself for future trades. I already have Martin, Pavlich and Broughton dropping heaps in price; plus my rookie choice wasn't that good.
So i'm thinking if i can find someone in my team who isn't performing that great (i,e Broughton, DangerF, Pavlich), and do a sideways/downgrade to a premium who costs less than they are, but are averaging more and will be more consistent.
So an option could be Broughton to Hibberd/Geary/Duffied/Guerra/Taylor/Waters.
OR DangerF OR Pavlich to Ziebel/Barlow/Tippet/Dahlhous/Ebert/Anthony/K Cornes/Jack/Bastinac.

Thoughts?

You have just stated blokes with 4 good games in a row that have had mediocre seasons beforehand. The guys you have in your team you chose for a reason so stick with your guns! Broughton will still be top 7, same with pav and Martin was always going to be a loose cannon in his third year.. Even if they are struggling and continue to they will be good for at least a 6th or 7th spot on your field.. I would just leave it or get some blokes in on the bubble that are must have rookies..

charliesheen

McDonald is a must, so that should take priority.

J.Paine > McDonald.

Value in sideways trading is gone, unless you genuinely think your premiums will fail, say ~15 ppg drop off their 2011 average.

Luigi197

OK i think i agree then.
I want more points in my team, and the only way to do that is to get more premiums.
And the only way to do that is to get money.
And the only way to do that is to downgrade.

Who should i look at giving the chop soon out of my rookies?
And who looks the good that i should get in ASAP for rookies on or about to be on the bubble?

charliesheen

The answer to all those questions are going to be line ball calls.  Personally, I think I am going to have to give some of these GWS rookies a miss with the way I plan on tackling the byes and the trade situation I am currently in.

Keep an eye on Jack Crisp at Brisbane.  Was elevated in place of Berger and named in Brisbane's team.  Thought he was vest material but played whole game and showed a bit especially found the ball a lot could have kicked 3 goals if he realised how much time he had. maybe a midfield downgrade target at rookie price of $94k.

Luigi197

How about Devon Smith for Macdonald
and Paine for Treloar?
