The Coniglio to Greene trade seems wrong and I have said I won't do it but what's the maths on it?,

can someone give me some more info on Greene, i havent watched many GWS games and when i have wasn't really paying attention to him, like what's his JS like

The short story:  you free up $40,500 of your own money and down a trade plus have a rookie who looks set to rise in price quickly.

The Long Story:

if no trade
Coniglio $175,200 + projected rise  $22,500 = $197,700 player

Summary: you have a a rookie with good JS but looks to be a slow earner unless he takes it up a notch which he seems capable of doing.

If you trade
Greene $134,700 + Projected rise $89,600 + $40,500 freed from trade = $264,800

Difference + $67,100 made - 1 Trade

I'm in the exact same boat...Wasn't going to do it, but it seems silly when it's a guaranteed money maker straight from the get-go and would help to upgrade to that premo maybe a little earlier in the season...Keep ahead or at least even with the rest of the teams in my league...I'm on the fence at the moment.

Last year I messed curnow traded him in and out by his injury in rd 8 or so and he made me a packet

*ALARM BELLS*
greene DT well, yeah but i wasnt sure he played brilliant, i thought coniglio PLAYED better
so i checked out the match stats and yep there was greene, brilliant 31 disposals but as 55% DE - not brilliant

take what you will....................

+ coniglio had 80% TOG but was off for a chunk of the third quarter getting his shoulder strapped and tested, in that quarter he got a meesly 8 DT points

his quaters went 13 - 22 - 8 - 17

IMO he woulodve gotten around 70 if he hadnt taken a bump till his shoulder

i reakon go for it, i think he's worth the trade and you know his price is going to go up heaps and any one who is getting 30 touches in their second game of AFL is a winner for me and although i know Conigilio will be a gun i think i'd rather Greene. This is the last week for messing around and if Greene got 75+ this week you'd be pulling you're hair out. I'm 95 % sure i'm going to do the same thing

"Why would I trade Coniglio."

You said that just yesterday.  :P

I'm keeping him, has talent and I give rookies more than two games to show what they've got.

I was going to trade in Greene but now I'm thinking otherwise.

Coniglio will be a great player, he has started slow but I feel in another game or so he'll be firing.

He is also handy to have as a 7th midfielder all year given that he has great JS, and he might be handy to call upon should a midfielder get injured/suspended or rested.

Greene can find the ball but GWS turned the ball over a lot and sheedy will be looking at players with bad efficiency and Greene stands out there. With Power yet to come back Greene might get squeezed out and then we have another gysberts/muston.

I'm keeping Coniglio

I for one will be jumping on Greene, but wont be ditching Conigs for him...... Would rather dump another mid rookie and fork out the extra $, as Coniglio will come good and be a good earner, so I want them both  ;D

Oh really. My bad. Regardless, I'm all about JS this year, I've been scrounging for bench cover over the years due to cashing in on cows too early and buying into hype.

I'm keeping Coniglio for these reasons

Yes yes I did, but I realise I hadn't explored it entirely, that Maths adds up but with two bench players the bye rounds need a coniglio to be there, I won't be doing this trade but I think there was two many people proposing this not to make a dedicated thread.

Even if Greene is 55% efficient don't you think sheeds will play him as he can get the ball?
Looking for more opinions on Greene

Another example of what a few people do, surely it must be correct/fine.

Muston, Relton, Lynch etc.

It's gonna be hard to keep a rookie for the season with the byes. He will have go rd11 unless you like donuts!

Ousting Greene in the long run will cost you two trades.

getting him in, and getting him out. Yes, he will make you some "quick cash," but the same as Coniglio he will have to be culled.

Seriously, can Greene keep this up? In round one he was everywhere sure, but had little impact, IMO, Coniglio was more impressive. I'd like more from Cogs for sure, but slow and steady win the race.....I hope.  :-\

60 from a rookie who can improve and can tear games open is enough incentive for me to keep him.  ;)

My plan was to trade out JMac due to him slowing down mid year and maybe taking s back seat, but with his suspension his 1st price rise will be rd 5 so not sure now.

I only have those 2 GWS and Thommo in rd 11 so would rather cash in on JMac.
