we are not mentally good enough to beat them. talent wise we do but it's tue mind game that's screwing us up :'( our mentality is "we've lost before consecutively, we can't possibly beat them."

- I'm frustrated at Franklin's inability to kick a ball in the air rather than along the ground. so much for standing up when it counts!
- Osborne and Bateman should not be playing AFL footy anymore. the game's past their tired, old legs.

- Geelong are my most hated team in the AFL... but I just can't hate Jimmy B or Selwood. credits to them they stood up when it counted! Hawthorn where are your big stage players when we need you?

Yeh definitely, I'm hoping Young gets an opportunity to prove himself again, as he used to be great, as did Ellis.
Also, I'm not to convinced on Savage, had some good second efforts but didn't really get to much of the ball..
Has shoenmakers ever taken a contested mark in his career? He rarely gets the spoil and he's just so weak. He's a decent kick of the ball, some of his decisions are a bit iffy but I don't mind him bringing it out of defence, just one on one with Cloke, Dawes, Hawkins, Pods etc = goal to opposition :(

Bartel is easily top 5 in AFL.

You guys seem to have forgotten that the week befor you beat Collingwood! When it comes down to it, a 2 point loss is neither here nor there at this stage of the season. You won't dominate a top 2 side for the whole game. You won the third quarter, we won the last. Don't forget who you were playing. this is the best Geelong team EVER. Really, I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's to early in the season for that.
Why do fans get so upset when Geelong beats them? I've been following footy for a long time, and Geelong are the toughest team mentally I have EVER seen.
I still think the Hawks will play in this years GF. Hopefully it will be against Geelong.

Clinton young will almost deffinatly make his return this week. ripped it up at box hill. Bateman and Osborne both gone. still no news on poppy, shiels or gilham. not playing at box hill, not on the injury list. what's the bloody go?
and hodgey I'm saying wont return till round 5. heard he will miss next game against the crows but will be okay for round 4? but seeing as its in Perth I doubt he will fly over.

I'd almost be tempted to drop guerra for a week and put Cheney in. how he dropped do many marks and literally gifted the cats goals is ridiculous!

also it was pretty obvious in the second half we went too tall. broc, hale and rough vs west? how's that gonna work. schoenmakers out and roughy to a perma back possy for a while. start gunston (how the fark we have a 6 foot 4 bloke being the sub is also stupid) and have a RUNNING player as te sub like every other bloody team.

yeah I new that had a baz hall brain fade for a minute. shiels had 28 on the weekend so from what iv heard Osborne, Bateman > Shiels and Young. possibly more changes depending on weather. broc wouldn't want it to rain Sunday morning when he gets up.

guerra's fine. played really well against collingwood. just some spuds who played last year are still getting a game in a list full of absolute depth!

The Hawks team of the 80s was way more mentally tough not to mention the MASSIVE mental breakdown of Geelong in the 2008 grand final which they should have won in a canter!!

Don't get me wrong ... they are an AWESOME team with so much talent and last year showed some real guts and determination but "EVER" is a big word .... especially for a team who threw a GF win when at their absolute peak.  ;D
