the guys still young how can he be overrated should be an age limit on this

not saying he won't be a star in a couple of years. just at the moment his way to over rated. between him and Hurley essendon supporters think there gods. they both have a good game every 3-4 weeks when essendon have a win and then they go missing when it gets tough.

Same goes for half the players in the competition doesn't it?

don't understand why people are saying Dane swan is over rated. the guy is a freak. runs alllllll day. gets the hard ball. kicks goals. can mark. what else do you want from the guy?? you can't say compared to pendles his shower. pendles is a freak. probably the most skilled player going around at the moment. just because his better than swan doesn't make swanny over rated. half the people just don't like collingwood so they give him the over rated tag. actually watch the guy play.

my most over rated player would have to be David zaharkis.

thankyou!

such as?

not even worth arguing this point. clearly another essendon supporter that doesnt realise at this time in their careers they are talked up week in week out about how good they are when they aren't!

+1 there was maybe 5 rounds at the start of last year when Dawes got a bit of hype but now I think most think he's just an average player in a good team that will kick his 2 most weeks and then everyone now And then kick 4 or 5.

You realize Hurley is 21 played injured most of last year and Zaharakis is 22 and had knee problems after every game last year and probably this year, every clubs supporters talk up there own players most Essendon supporters talk them up because there good players but still young and will improve a lot but for there age now they are good players.

mate I don't think you understand what I'm saying. there okay players for the moment. there not stars. plain and simple bombers supporters talk them up like there guns of the comp. THERE NOT!

I'm not saying there both crap players or there not gonna be good! just that I think they are over rated which is the point of this thread. stop getting defensive over your lover boys and giving me crap like there playing injured and there only 21. I don't care if they were 16 and playing with broken legs. they are not superstars of the comp so stop treating them like they are!

might not be the hardest player in the comp but isn't a daisy thomas. basically I was just saying the guy can do it all.

Mat0369

Daisy and Swan are both outside running players. Pendlebury and Luke Ball win the hard ball at Collingwood and dish it out to these two who are running outside the pack all game. Swan is a player who sits outside racks up 30 touches, butchers half of them and has no defensive side to his game (Daisy puts on a lot of pressure). Most elite ball winners have no defensive side to their game since they have the ball in their hands so often but Swans ball use is not even that good. I will use Chris Judd as an example. Judds defensive side was pretty bad his first two years at Carlton but it has been very good the last two. Everytime I watch Collingwood Swan puts on zero pressure. Pendles and Ball are 100X more important to Collingwood then Dane Swan. If we are going to talk about watchin the guy play, keep an eye on how much hard ball these two win and give to Swan to get his easy one two touches. Swan should not even be in the top 5 at Collingwood. In order they are Pendlebury, Jolly, Cloke, Ball, Reid. I know Collingwood supporters are going to go crazy over this comment but it is true.

you just dont watch enough footy mate

Mat0369

Mate it is a fact he is a player that sits outside the pack and does not tackle. He has had 2 years in his career with over 80 tackles. One year was 2010 where he was ranked 51st in the AFL in tackles per game average. I have been looking for contested possession stats and can't find any for other then last weekend. He had 5 contested possessions out of 31 and 1 tackle. I will watch the Richmond game and it will be the exact same thing. Pendlebury or Ball have 4 hanging off of them, get a handball out to Swan in space who will get his cheap touches. The clearance work of Pendlebury and Ball is amazing to watch. They do it week in and week out and Swan gets all this credit because he gets his easy ball.
