What to people plan on doing with him? I only put him in my side late into preseason and not sure what im going to do with him. what are your plans?

Binga

Get rid of him, noone should ever have picked him.

I'm keeping him, in a game where seasoned 'veterans' like Rock & Cock getting only 15 or so points more. Take it with a grain of salt.

They got smashed, last week Morris & Ellis had to play on the Jeff & Eddie. They stunk it up as well. Keep. Showed what he could do last week when released.

He is not a lockdown defender Voss you idiot! He didn't average the most DT points (110 a game) being a shut down player. Get Pearce "Butcher" Hanley to do that and get him loose.  ;)

Jukes

So true Binga, never really showed any DT promise, unlike the lad Hargrave. Knew he'd be a stupid dud pick, and I was right.

Only consolation for him is that Lions really sucked for dt last night; 1 player tonning up and DT legend Rocky only scoring about 20 more.

"Before his ACL injury Golby averaged 23 touches, 8 marks and 1 goal from 5 games @ TAC Cup level in 2009 and was touted as a top 25 pick prospect in the 2009 AFL prospectus. Due to the ACL injury he slipped through the draft and Brisbane snapped him up as a rookie."

Excerpts from the article: "He came back in 2011 and dominated in the NEAFL averaging 23 possessions from 17 matches."

"pre-season he’s had scores of 37 (sub-affected), 100, 73 and then 94 at a rate of 88 points per 100 minutes, not too shabby. Golby can put these good scores down to playing the lucrative quarterback role we’re all too familiar with."

Golby played that spot all pre-season and dominated, he did that WITH Hanley in the team. Voss better realize this soon...

"He’s been touted as a rebounding defender ever since being recruited as a junior, with a piercing left foot kick (and his fair share of injuries)."

In His Own Words:

Question: What type of player are you?
Golby: An attacking defender that links up and can also play on the ball.

Q: Which AFL player do you most resemble and why?
G: A cross between Nick Dal Santo and Lindsay Gilbee. Dal Santo because of his neat, left-foot kick and Gilbee because of his run and ability to create from defence.

Q: What are your strengths as a footballer?
G: Reading the play, running and carrying the ball, doing the one per centers and my long kicking.

Hanley was the playmaker last season for Brisbane; will they take points from each other? From the last two NAB matches we’ve seen Golby posting up scores of 73 and 94, blending well with Hanley’s 87 and 84 â€" point to note: when Golby tonned up Hanley wasn’t playing.

The stat's don't lie. I believe he is playing the incorrect role in the lions back 6, and it is hurting his scoring.  ;)

Nails

I don't get all these idiots who say he showed nothing in the pre-season.

Obviously you didn't research and you're an idiot.

100, 73 and 94 - for a guy who's $265K - that's awesome.

He scored 88 points per 100 minutes in the NAB. That's keeper quality and for 265K that's awesome. There's a valid reason he was selected, so before you try and make us out as stupid for selecting him as if he didn't show anything.

shuddup u dum dum.

Windigo

100% agree nails. I did my research on him, and it all looked good. He warranted a selection.

70 odd from 3 QTR's last week is great. It's two weeks in.  ::)

That's all very nice, but playing in the AFL is a step up. It may very well be the incorrect role for his playing style, but Voss needs him in the role that he is playing. Point to note; AFL coaches dont give a shower about dream team! get that into your thick heads! everyone on this forum.

OMG HE STUNK IT UP ONCE BETTER PANIC TRADE D:

Windigo

Yes, that is correct. But, surely Voss would see that during the NAB games he was playing much better in that role to what he currently doing it. Who knows what his thinking, but I'm keeping him.

Also, point to note, a logical note.

You had to pick let's say out of two players. One is Mitch Golby & the other "John Doe". Both are the same price in DT.

You look at my stats on Mitch Golby....Then you look at John Doe's......TAC Cup stats: 8 disposals, one mark & 2 tackles. Absolutely no hype on him and shower NAB scores. Who are you gunna pick?

Once Brown comes back into the side next week, Merrett will go back downfield which will free up Golby.
That's why he's been having to play the lockdown role.

Just keep your fingers crossed that Brownie can go the rest of the season without breaking his face. Again.

And Rocky won't have to go forward so much
