Does Martin have a big enough engine to be a DT elite?

From what i saw last thurs night i was very disappointed. I picked martin but im not conviced his going to take his game to another level. On Several occassions he lack of chase and aggression on contested balls. For example he was only in 2nd gear if that when judd gives to yarran who runs on and goals.

Yes the ball probably did go out of play but you dont stop until the whistle. I believe he thought his team mate was going to do his work for him. There was also several times through the match he didnt look to get out of 1st gear. Do you think hell be 100+ player? Im thinking more a mid 80s type average?

Please... He will be a 100+ player maybe not this year but should get mid-low 90's.

Are you basing this on the first game of 2012? He will be elite, not yet but will be.

I would like him to find more of the ball. Reminds me of a Nic Nat, you notice him because of things he does with the ball, but he doesn't get enough of it.

He will be DARTIN his way straight into the top 10 scorers this season, he had one bad game, but who doesn't?

Wasnt saying he was a a bad player. I think his great talent his exciting to watch and can turn a game on its head. What Im saying is he doesnt seem to have the work rate of a prolific midfielder. Maybe he is not fully match fit played 39% 72% 80% in the last 3 NAB games. Killed the Cats but wasnt a standout againts GWS. Fingers crossed he pumps out better than last year.

I think the fact that his first 5 games were/are against Carlton, Collingwood, Melbourne, Geelong and West Coast means that we won't get a fair representation of what his average will be. Yes to be elite you have to play well against good teams. But you also need a good team around you (unless your name is Ablett). Plus Martin is the type of player that can really destroy it against weaker teams (not everyone does).

I was watching the game and when I saw his chase on Yarran I was very disappointed. He needs Cale Hooker to teach him a thing or two about chase downs....

Last year D_Mart had the WORST tackling efficiency at Richmond.

Im sticking Fat but Im expecting big things this year and ill be disappointed if he doesnt regularly bring home 100+ . A couple of bad games early might make him a more unique pick. Im a little nervous.

i dont think he will be a unique pick as everyone was talking about either getting him early or get him after his tough start as an upgrade target.
