I haven't lost my faith in Ellis after his dismal 38 because he has a lot of potenial skill and good js. But I cant ignore that the tiges are playing us (the pies) and he got 38 last week I can only hope that improves. On the other hand Clarke was a consistent average of 70 before he left the pies. And showed promise with 61, but I expected more because he played a fair bit on ball, and always has the sub risk. Which one?

Yeah it's pretty one sided. But yeah Clarke, Ellis might not be playing and Clarke will pump out a good 70-80 this week.

Easy choice.

Marty, won't post huge numbers, but looks a safer option to Ellis.

Yeah marty for me, a good spanking against the tigers will do it ;)

Clarke looked really good vs. Hawthorn and he can only improve. Clarke easy.

I'm in the silly spot that I got Morris and Ellis and started both on ground. Wilkes and Darley on my bench. If Morris doesn't perform he will get botted from my team for Mohr, Guthrie or Clarke. I reckon you should go Ellis for 1 main reason. The ball will be in the Defense or around the Midfield than around the Collingwood Defense where Clarke will be. I'm hoping 70 from Ellis and 55 from Morris. Would be very happy if that happens and could get me to 2300 if it happens.

Ellis might be in line for worse than the vest... :-\

Clarke on ground, he cost 25k more and scored better in R1, would be a bit of a waste to have him on the bench for Ellis

MGK1

Agree with Clarke.

Less chance to be subbed and has a mature body.

There is a reason you paid 140k for clarke instead of going for a cheaper rookie, Clarke looked pretty good last week against hawks so if anything your faith in clarke should have gone up. If your not thinking of playing him than you should have picked him.

For me clarke isnt even a rookie, i have clarke locked all season (untill he is upgraded) than 1 of bugg, eliis morris

you have to play clarke he will have a full game on the park and see plenty of it this round.

Ellis will come good and surely be given the chance to get up to AFL level, Conca started shower last season too and they kept giving him hard roles and developing him in the backline.

He did cop the vest a bit also, but he also became a MUCH better player later in the season when given a bit of license off halfback and into the middle.

The same future should await Ellis, clearly skilled and clearly worth putting game time into but also a risk of the vest, so while he will score better the more he plays he will also risk getting vested :) he may avoid it however and conca or another speedy fringe midfielder will be more likely to be vested.

high impact FAST players usually small forwards or midfielders are the perfect starting subs so here's hoping Ellis continue to get high TOG but also starts to score better.

What a long way to answer a simple question - start Clarke, but don't be surprised if given a full game Ellis redeems himself :)
