Guys, Giles and Redden can't give 110+ That Mummy and Cox do most weeks. They can barely give 100+  :P I didn't go with them on ground only on bench if Mummy/Cox get's injured.

True, but by starting Giles over Mumford I only lost 20 points here then I had the cash to turn Lake into Birchall and Howard into Deledio...

Simple fact is Mummy and Cox are proven, Giles and Redden are not.

Simple fact is saving 400k on a ruckmen can gain you more points over the season if you spend your extra money wisely. Spending big on 'safe' options is all well and good but Giles is a number 1 ruck at GWS and Port seem to have the most injury depleted ruck line-up that Redden is in and around it too.
But hey, agree to disagree :)

Not entirely, if a premo ruck goes down it's an easy sideways trade to another premium. If one of the rooks goes down then there's not really anyone to switch them out for. I mean best bets are probably Rowe and Derickx  :-\

arent we doing the same in reverse. We are getting another rookie in the mids, fwds or backs and setting 2 premi rucks, whilst you are getting an extra premi fwd, back or mid whilst taking an extra rookie ruck

I think what theyre getting at is that its better to have the scores of either Redden or Giles on field rather than say a Dickson or Ellis. Also Stephenson doesn't seem to be any worse than Morris or even Yagmoor at this stage with similar job security.

The other thing that leaves is the option to pick the best or one of the best performing ruckmen later in the year when for once its much more open than in years past

yeh ok but the difference i can see between my team and theirs is that they have an extra rookie ruck (in my case i dont have the big O) and an extra premi mid. Whilst i have a rookie mid (magner or JMAC) and a premi ruck. So they cancel each other out. But my rucks dont need to be touched except for byes this year

Thats what i initially had before dropping ryder to go a one prem 3 rook approach, then furth downgraded the rucks going cox to nicnat in the hours leading up to r1 lookout.. damn knee jerks
