Haha agreed, what's up with Lions talking about playing Merret forward and naming Patful centre half forward, bring lisle in.

Ringo

Do you honestly think that is how Brisbane will line up?

Polec, Beams, and Lester all looked better players in the NAB Cup than Lisle so were rewarded with first round games.  For the first time in a number of years there will be pressure on to retain positions and this goes well for the club. Lisle, Cornelius and Harwood will continue to put the pressure on them and then we have Brown to return in game 3. Lester and Beams both looked good last year till season ending injuries.

the two key forwards are.......drum roll...... Rockliff and Merritt  ;D

well done Ringo nice win, easy opponent but the boys looked good all the same, lots of work to do but browny back soon and here's a question for you...

Has Black become Boyd?

I know it was only Melbourne, but they couldn't get a tag to stick and they tried many, he ran riot - but Boyd is un taggable- teams just don't bother because he can't be tagged and he racks up 30 whatever they try, so they don't try. Imagine if teams stopped tagging Black, I wonder if people accross the afl world would suddenly realise how good he is and i wonder how much he would average in DT/SC and how many would jump on!

Thanks Colli.  For the first time in a number of years we have depth and players fighting for positions which goes well for us.
From our reserves in the NEAFL Lisle, Cornelius and Retzlaff were outstanding up forward, Drummond continues to gain fitness and was one of our best, and Bartlett and Green shine through midfield.  All these will continue to push for Senior selection keeping pressure on.  Longer was reported so may miss a game or two.

Regarding Black he never really turns in a bad game but because of tags at times possessions are down.  With our much stronger and inform midfield (Reddan, Rockliff and Rich) supporting him he certainly turned the clock back on Saturday and will not be among the worst mids for the season.  And to think that we put him on yearly performance based contracts should upgrade now!!

Carlton will test us Thursday Night. Suspect Rich and Murphy may go haed to head.
