the article is mainly about his midfield role that he'll be playing in 2012 and was locking him in up until the last few paragraphs starts talking about how he's going to be moved into that back pocket he loves and will tag the shower out of other small forwards such as Stevie J and Paul Chapman.

it's going to be another rollercoaster year for Broughton owners, I won't be able to cope - good luck

it Doesn`t actually say that it says
After a pre-season spent working closely with stoppage coach Mark Stone, Broughton is mentally and physically more prepared for a midfield role this season.

He says he is feeling as good as could be expected after an uninterrupted summer that saw him - like the majority of Fremantle's squad - run a personal best 3km time trial.

The dilemma now for Fremantle is that Broughton is also a proven option as a lockdown small defender, boasting good results against Geelong danger men Steve Johnson and Paul Chapman.

The Norm Smith medallists were held to one goal each when the Cats travelled to Patersons Stadium in round two last season, but Broughton said stopping them would be a team focus.

LOL essendon2, you'd make a good politician.

What article were you reading?

What I saw:
- Trained as midfielder all preseason: Check
- Ross rates him in the midfield and said he's already taken the steps to being in his midfield plan: Check
- Is feeling as good as he ever has and shaved time off his best 3km run: Check
- Reckons he can improve even more: Check

They only said that he COULD be played down back if they really wanted him to, but they didn't say that's what Lyon had planned for him.

essendon2

yeah that's what I said mate ^^
there's a thing called plagiarism

Hey it's the guy who is on chat all the time. lol.

it says he's great at locking down small forwards... so when they come across good teams, there's a high chance he'll play down back..

And thought, LOCK!!!

felsty

fact is he tore the preseason a new one and no matter how much we may think adcock or heppell or birchall or shaw may or may not be better than him, the proof is in the pudding. he can make other sc players, even elite midfielders look silly with his scores some days. i for one just hope that ross lyon is listening and plays him where he plays the best, in the guts!

so what if he scores a bit less than normal for a couple of games most players have a couple of bad weeks i`m sure the games where he will be let loose will outweigh the ones where he is tagging.

Lol whatever makes you feel better about not picking Broughton, but that is not what was said at all. The reporter (who knows nothing about Lyon's plans) said Freo will have a dilemma. That's all he said, a dilemma. Considering he has improved his midfield game, increased his tank, played with mids, is wanted in the mids by Lyon.... Everything coming out from Freo is suggesting the midfield, just because the reporter says they will have a "dilemma" doesn't mean he'll be playing in the back like he did last year.

I'm sure he will give me the odd 60, but IMO i see him improving a fair bit on 2011, so he's worth having for me.

Im pretty sure he'll be playing in the mids just that not sure what happens when all of freos mids are fit.
I reckon he'll play mids but will be moved down back once in a while, maybe a change of role during a game because stevie j kicked 5 goals or something
