What are peoples thoughts on the job security of Clarke? I just can't justify having him in my team at 141k unless he's almost certain to play, when i could easily grab a rookie with similar (or better) job security at 104k i.e. save almost 40k...

kilbluff1985

i think his security is pretty good if he performs

haha :), maybe i should have worded it a little differently then. Do people rate his chances of performing well early on? (probably also quite obvious as he's in so many teams)

Zombie2.5

Haha, very helpful advice ^^^
if he performs, make sure to have him in your team before Round 1!!!

Hmm back on topic,
I think he'll get the Neon position except Yagmoor is up and rising also fighting for that spot. Plus Clarkey has to settle back into AFL and CW might even give him a year in reserves or something, especially if Yags form is good. Who knows he might be dropped early to get more match practice in rserves.
But i reckon he can do it, hell probaly get a few games to establish himself in best 22 and he should be able to do it. Still some risks though, so pick other rookie if you can.

If he's named on the ground then you would hope he will hold his spot over yagmoor etc when maxwell and some others come back, if he's named on the pine tomorrow start getting worried! I know I will

nickyt

Good point, if he's named on the bench i will probably give him the flick!

pavs nose

he has the luck of the irish on his side so he should get selected for every game

Hippo

Pendlebury has him in his sc team, enough said

nickyt

Interesting... Pendlebury may have slightly more idea of Marty's JS than we do...

Jukes

Fear he might play too deep in defence at points to be a good dt scorer, but I'm having him anyway.

its sounds stupid saying it but he is right, he has the spot now all he has to do is perform decently or better than the guy he is competing with and he is fine. Really all he has to do is beat a rookie and if does that he should be in the 22 all year. Its not like he is playing in a position where there is a star potentially coming back from injury.

Example in the Roos Sam gibson may play round 1, but even if he has a blinder i think he will be dropped when JZ comes back.

Phasir

well if Pendles has him in his SC team I'm sticking with him, one of the first chumps picked into the Royalz this year :D
