TROUBLED former footballer Ben Cousins is in police custody after being arrested on serious drug charges at Esperance Airport last night.

Cousins was arrested at 7.15pm at the airport by waiting police and was released on bail after being charged with possession of methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply.

Police say he breached his bail conditions and was re-arrested.

He is currently in police custody in Esperance.
