How long will Redden last? How long will Stephenson last? Giles scores when Brogan comes back? Is it worth downgrading somewhere and to have HMac/Maric instead? I have 3 rookies ATM but if one or more get dropped/injured there could be a big problem. A cash cow/s would be lost whereas you could have a more dependable cash cow on another line. Please discuss.

Need to get 2 of the top 3 - 4 scoring rucks in your team and don't leave it too late.

Half way men like Hale, Kreuzer, HMc will cost you valuable trades in the long run and won't outscore a good rookie by much anyway.

Good luck.

Free Kick

This has been well debated but if a year has ever presented itself for three rookie rucks who will get game time and make you $$$. Then this is it.

GILES: GWS will play most of their rookies and Giles is no exception. Predict he will score 80+ most weeks.
STEPHENSON: Cats have ruck injury concerns and as a mature will also see serious game time.
REDDEN: Has shown some good form and Port are trying to build again and will pump some games into him also.

As for trades, the trade you have to use to upgrade here will be negated by the trades you save by spending the extra $$$ on premiums in your other lines from the get go.

I'm on board the rookie rucks this year. Good luck 8)

I think that Giles will average 85-90, with a couple of tons to boost up his average. Redden to average around the 80 mark, Big O a little less about 65-70. All three will get plenty of game time early due to not having much other competition at their respective clubs. Will they score better than a midfield rookie who you have on the field? I think it should be close to the top rookie scores, but compared to forward and backline players then they will definitely score better and are a safer option.

I don’t see any of these guys as on the ground keepers so I would be looking to upgrade them once their price has maxed out.

the only question i think re midpricers v rookies this year is how much kreuzer steps up. forget hmac and maric, but kreuz has the potential to get to the 110+ ave and be a keeper along with another prem, but can he get there this year is the issue?

also sluga those averages you assigned are VERY generous. giles 70-80, redden 65-75 and big O no more than 60 imo. still enopugh to go up in price the way we want

I'll be surprised if O gets more than 45 points this week up against Sandi. You're going to have to cop that some weeks if you go down the 3 rookie ruck path. But Shiel got 33 this week, so midfield rookies can also dish up rubbish.

Giles score 87 on the weekend and didn't play too much time in the third quarter due to having his head tapped up, so taking that into consideration his game could have broken the ton. Also this was against the big Mummy who many picked as their number one ruck. Could be like a Zac Smith last year, smashed it up the first half and then faded away!
I think as long as they get at least 60 average and make me 200K I would call it a pass mark.

3 rookies and 1 premium will work

BUT 3 rookies and a mid priced guy is very risky indeed.

Dare you to try it.  :D
