you see, the rookie draft that was just held, was in 2012, meaning it was last year :)

The 2011 AFL Rookie Draft took place before the 2011 season.

The 2011 AFL Rookie Draft took place before the 2011 season.

that's a lie.

the draft is named after the year it takes place in, for instance the 2011 draft was in fact this years draft (with patton at 1 for the nat. draft, coniglio at 2 etc.)

so the 2011 rookie draft is the most recent rookie draft.

look it up on wikipedia :P

But zip you're not right. After the 2011 afl draft (ie where Patton was picked 1), comes the 2012 rookie draft (ie where Sam Frost was taken 1).

So the 2011 rookie draft actually occurred before the 2011 season, but after the 2010 national draft (where Swallow was taken 1)
