Ruck 2 AND DONT WANT A ROOKIE UNDER 450k- Minson or Hale

Looking for a ruck for my second pick. All my backs are Premiums and so are all my fowards apart from 1. With 8 rookie midfielders. Just looking for a second ruck and have about 450K to spend so i would like some advice.

Absolutely DO NOT agree with the 8 rookie mids? who will be your captain? massive loss of points there alone. Especially given a lot of the great mid rooks this season have fwd eligibility and can be midfielders in your fwd line allowing mid premiums over fwd premiums and better scoring as a result.

SORRY that's out of the way.

MINSON - going to have a blinder this season. Hale will go well but won't be a keeper playing FWD and helping out in the ruck, Roughead close to back and gunston and buddy up fwd, hale might have real up and down scores. Minson #1 ruck fit strong and at the age where rucks breakout.

I'm in a similiar boat to you with my strategy.

BUT

Like colliwobbles mentioned, solid Mid captain missing is a big no.

I'm going with 7 Mid cheaps + 1 cheap ruck on the field - Rest out and out premiums. I have one solid Gun in the midfield. You just need 1 at the very very very least - to be your weekly captain.

Hale for me ... i reckon Minson will have a great year as well ... I think Hale is a bit cheaper which is a bonus ... plus can trade him into the forward line if there is another ruckman killing it like Minson/Smith/Kruizer etc ... (using the new trade rule that is)

Goddard could easily average 130 again, so there is a captain choice there if you've got no premium mids. Sandiland can always carry the C too.

+1 HMac all the way. Will spend alot more time rucking than Hale and will be the 2nd focal point after Petrie up fwd.Plus he's just a better player esp. in the ruck.

Have you also considered Jolly from Pies.
Same as Minson could be in for a big season if NAB cup form maintained.
