I think fundamentally Darley is a better player than most of the back rookies floating around. But yeah, probably not worth the risk first up. Wait til he's played a couple of games then jump on.

Dunno about Smedts playing 15 games. Maybe 10 if he's lucky, Geelong aren't in the business of letting poor performers just roll around.

Sam Shaw has started popping up in people's teams since the Freako gave him a pump up. Not exactly a high scorer but worth a look.

I think most teams will have Darley in at some stage this year... Smedts (like a lot of Geelong rookies last couple of years) might play games but not necessrily get the game time, Geelong rooks don't tend to make $150-250K for you.

i think the question is whether you start with Darley or trade him in later... have you looked at Bugg/Ellis/Morris/Clarke/Tomlinson for a smokey??

Why the hate for smedts?
im keeping him for uniqueness and hoping he fires up in proper season and be the opposite of masten  ;D
