Mabye Im tripping, but i sense that Bartel will relish the wet conditions that we are currently confronted with.. I believe he's value for money, but so to is Montagna... The latter will possibly benefit from having old mate hayes back in the fray..

What do you boys think, will Jimmy become the wet weather hero that i need?

4INAROW

nope, hes a gun who can play almost anywhere and usually does affecting his scoring.

somtimes he'll rip out a huge 1 and somtimes he'll sacrifice his game for the team.

not consistent enough for me

montagna may be an option if he gets back to his best.

quinny88

yea i had bartel last year and hes too inconsistent. montagna is more likely to pump out 100+ every week, bartel can be 150 one week, 80 the next

4INAROW

+1 ^^ i picked up bartel after a 145avg 5 week stint last year then he pumped out the 80 and sometimes 70s.

you dont want that in your mids

umm, in the long run it's the average that counts, so 140 one week and 80 the next is still 110, not bad imo.

wouldnt be counting on the weather just yet thpugh

especially in melbourne (where he will play the majority of his games), you can have all four seasons during one weekend...

Not much good for winning your league though.. And despite it being the same average everyone gets frustrated with players that are up and down

4INAROW

@fever, o'keefe outscored buddy last season in total points.

who would you rather?

I have a mate who go's Bartel over Selwood. It's a perfect example of choosing a player you like rather then a better scoring player.

i agree re the frustration, but by your logic he'll win you as many league games as he'd lose you.

well if i could somehow magically predict the number of games they'd play then obv the higher total scorer. i dont get your point though. how is that comparison relevant?

i'm also not saying you should get bartel.

But who wants a guy in their side when it comes to the last few games of the season that could pull out a 70 or 80 and loose you your league or your overall chances. Better off going with solid players that give you 100+ numbers every week

Thanks Lads, really appreciate the advice.. Montags it is.. GOod luck to all
