Master Q

Thought I would make a thread where we can all ask each other questions about Rookies (Like X v Y) etc...

I'll kick it off -

McDonald worth it?

Jukes

McDonald not for me, better rookie options.

Shiel, Magner or DPP link; which two?

Zombie2.5

Im not going McDonald, still not sure on him, like hes 35!!
who knows how hes gona be used, dono if he'll play most games, be sub or not.
Its just too many question marks for me even though its not that risky at all.
Im getting coniglio and shiel, no old mac.

Doyle

I have him, cheap as chips, hopefully he doesn't get rested too much though otherwise his price will sky rocket IMO

sledgey7

i've got him believing he has been kept fresh thru the nab so he can stay on the field come season proper when they really need his experience.
to cheap to pass up an experienced midfielder that can hold tackles on the big men.

darley not being named has thrown me a bit.
who to replace him with?
yagmoor, brennan, paine, and smedts are the ones that could be named next week. bit of a risk passing up one of the other gws lads hoping one of the above gets named. already got 2 of the tigers boys.
and then there is marty clarke.....

Colliwobblers

J Mac pretty safe bet to rack up enough points to make some cash and trade out early, hoping he will be one of my first upgraded or downgraded when ripe. think the rest will come later in the season for him rather than early as they will really need him until they get settled and used to AFL footy.

Defence rooks to replace Darley, Bugg, Guthrie, Clark, You have Ellis and Morris so it gets slim after them and buggy, Guthrie well ahead of Smedts in liklihood of regular games. Defensive rooks are slim picking if you ask me which is why a lot of coaches have warmed to the mid priced defenders i think.

I have a question or two or three if I may,

1. Who do I start a) Shiel - b) Magner c) Ledger.
2. Who do I start a) D Smith b) A Kennedy
3. Who do I start a) Buggy b) Guthrie c) Ellis d) Morris

Assuming all non GWS rooks listed are named also.

Magner, Kennedy, Ellis.

Explanations:
Shiel hasnt played an AFL game yet. He played in the seconds last weekand killed it, im not saying he wont kill it saturday night. Magner has showed glimpses of potential in NAB before injuring his finger. Magner on the field. Shiel on the bench. Put the E on shiel. If shiel kills it and ledger or magner doesnt play, then you get shiels points. If you put shiel on the ground and scores sub 60, you'll be very dissapointed for the next week thats for sure.

Devon Smith should score higher average than kennedy but given kennedy might play on the back pocket, i think kennedy is going to get more ball than devon in the forward line. In saying that if devon goes into the midfield he will score more. But with shiel, jmac, coniglio all there the midfield will be pushed. Kennedy for mine.

Ellis cause he will rip it up against the blues. Im a blues supporter and i can just feel it in my fingers.

At the end of te day it is your call Colliwobblers.

Mr.Craig

Rookie talk aye?

Well, let's see. Are Will Hoskin-Elliot and Dom Tyson the forgotten men of the GWS midfield who could make their owners a fortune?

Can Kerridge score better than other forward rookies like Hall and Smedts even if he does get vested regularly?

Who will be this year's Cam Richardson?

And finally, in a side that lacks quality goalkicking options will Jeremy Cameron become a 2012 regular?

Master Q

IMO, anyone who wasn't named this round for GWS or aren't on the fringe (Miles, Clifton) won't be getting much game time this year. That is my prediction. I have Kerridge but he isn't a lock yet. I expect to see Cameron a lot, and am not sure on the Richardson question  :-\

hoskin elliot and tyson both are the least AFL ready players, but with the most talent, likely will come to thier best mid to late season, tyson is widely expected to be the best performing GWS rook ahead of coniglio but due to his body/youth not as likely to play as much TOG as the others.

No

Who will be this year's Cam Richardson?

LOL, I don't know but I'll never pick another North rookie again after 2011.

And finally, in a side that lacks quality goalkicking options will Jeremy Cameron become a 2012 regular?

YES - they love Cameron he would have gone very high in the draft, he gets up the ground too doesnt just camp in the goal square, he will be in the best 22 every round i'm betting, as a fantasy scorer i would only pick him if you feel you have no other options available. Could be a safer bet than most just his scoring concerns me.
