Let's try this again hey, there is a cricket tour on now, let's look forward to the final 2 ODI's. Maybe the pitches were bad, or maybe the batsmen made errors. To be honest, i don't care, what happened happened, and the Aussies scored what they did, and it's obvious that they need to score more to win the series. The opponent they have makes no difference as to how well they play.

(Using my initiative before mods see :P)

Gw Powerbug :)

I miss seeing more agressive ODI batting by Australia. I really get more interested when someone like MEK Hussey comes on who knows he needs to lift the run rate and starts playing aggresive shots :)

PowerBug

Yeah, i like to see the underogs come up in matches. That's why i loved the Sri Lankan chase in the first final, that is cricket, just when the game is won, there is one last twist.

Two things:

1. I'ts Caribbean, not Caribean. I see that the spelling ability of Port supporters hasn't changed a bit. ;)

2. Wade will make his test debut!!! ;D Haddin will not be returning to the Windies for family reasons. :(

Haddin's misses is pregnant, due soon.

You seem to know more than the media does cause I haven't read that anywhere.

Also, the next ODI has just gotten underway. Australia is fielding first and this is the team: DA Warner, MS Wade†, SR Watson*, MEK Hussey, DJ Hussey, PJ Forrest, GJ Bailey, CJ McKay, XJ Doherty, B Lee, BW Hilfenhaus.

afl_freak2

Capper

to me Forrest is not a one day batsman. Dont know why he went with the one day team.

windies batting

4/106 from 26

West Indies 294/7 (50.0 ov)

49.6
Lee to Sammy, SIX

49.5
Lee to Sammy, FOUR, Full ball outside off stump, Sammy stays in his crease and drives hard, drilling the ball past Lee and beating the fielder at mid-off

49.4
Lee to Sammy, SIX, Sammy's pulled a short ball and what's happened there? The ball went high in the air and cleared Forrest on the boundary. He's not having much joy out there

49.3
Lee to Pollard, OUT, he's gone this time, the delivery was fuller outside off and Pollard swung hard at it, slicing it in the air towards deep cover where Hussey ran in and took the catch. Pollard's played a special innings and he gets a warm ovation from this crowd
KA Pollard c MEK Hussey b Lee 102 (70b 5x4 8x6) SR: 145.71

49.2
Lee to Pollard, SIX, Pollard gets to his century with a huge hit over the midwicket boundary, backing away to a short delivery and pulling, he takes of his helmet and roars, tremendous intensity in that celebration

49.1
Lee to Sammy, 1 run, short ball and Sammy pulls towards deep square leg

CAN BRETT LEE BE SACKED NOW????????????????

West Indies nearly doubled their score from the last 12 overs of their innings

at 38 overs Windies were 5/149

1/145 from the last 12

No. He just made the top score for Australia. :o

Plus he got his revenge.

40.1 Roach to Lee, FOUR, full, quick and Lee inside-edges to the fine leg rope for four

40.2 Roach to Lee, FOUR, shot! pitched up again and Lee steps back to blammo a four through extra-cover

40.3 Roach to Lee, FOUR, three in a row! Roach is striving for the yorker but it's not quite full enough and Lee spears it through cover. He's taking out his frustrations from Roach's last over

40.4 Roach to Lee, SIX, this time his picks up the ball and deposits it back over long-on! That was a ferocious hit, a huge windmilling swing of the arms and the ball flies over the boundary

40.5 Roach to Lee, no run, Roach hits back with a bouncer and Lee is forced to curtail his aggression

40.6 Roach to Lee, SIX, he connects again with another almighty thrash, flat-batting a six over deep midwicket. Lee the gunslinger is going to go down in a blaze! That's 24 off the over!

...and the Windies won.

Wait what? :o

Yep, they won by 24 runs.

Where does Australia go from here with just one ODI to go?

All 3 openers have failed each and every time, with only Hussey and Bailey averaging more than 30. It's a very poor batting performance from Australia so far. Bowling has been pretty ordinary as well.

Maybe with Clarke heading over, they should through him in for Forrest? Couldn't hurt to try with the series at stake. Hell, I'd even Ponting another chance.

Poll Added. If there are any others just name them and i'll add to the poll :)

TheMailman

Well now we know that Australia DOES have a batting issue.

When does Clarke come back?
