darley absence from gws' rnd 1 team has thrown a spanner in the works...need to select one of the options in the poll to complete my backs! I already have ellis/morris/bugg...i'm open to other suggestions as well :)

Cheers

I'm taking the risk and still have Darley on the bench, Saves a trade and he will play eventually

quinny88

can you alter the poll so it is just between...
smedts
mohr
townsend
hombsch
find cash for clarke
find cash for tomlinson

??

The Bomber

im not sure how many people have suggested this but wilkes, may not be a high scorer, but consistent and great js
yagmoor from the pies seems like a good player if he can play
and what happened to luke brown from adelaide...so much promise pre season but then no show in NAB/forums anymore...

for the record stick with darley...even if you pick other gws rook backmen, they will be rotated anyway

I just dont think wilkes can score well enough to increase his value to make a decent trade. yagmoor, not sure how much he will play in the superstar collingwood side and luke brown, yea it seems like he has dropped off the face of the earth..
I like your point about gws rooks being rotated in and out anyway.. i think mohr would have to have the safest js of the bunch but again, may not score well enough

Just asked this in another thread but this seems a better place to ask - but anyone considering Shaw from ADL?

Beau Wilkes will be a dud scorer. Most people have Smedts already, whether in fwd or back. Spurr hasn't been elevated. Townsend looks the way to go.

the qurstion is do you take a risk on going smedts or spurr and hoping they play otherwise having  to pick someone who your not confident about or go safe and pick gws  bloke who is named?

These guys are only named for round 1. They could make 7 changes next week, then you'll be stuck with your GWS players for weeks when they're not playing. Pick the ones who you think will be the best for the year, not just for round 1. Billy will play early, and often.

I know the coach loves this guy but I thought I heard bits and pieces on the radio that made it appear they weren't that impressed at the club with his NAB and pre season form. You think otherwise Meow Meow? Had him in my team for a long time and then dropped off and hoped he'd be downgrade target mid season.

Deciding between Mohr and Townsend. Currently have Townsend, apparently has good js with his role as tagger. His points will be low though..

Mate Mohr will score just as low. He's a KPP who gets hardly any of the ball.

I've decided I'm rolling the dice on Townsend. Fingers crossed.

I'm keep the faith in Darley. Sticking with him hoping to God he is named round 2. If he his, he should play well enough to hold his spot from there.
