How big of a factor is the uniqueness of a player when picking him ?

My plan all along has been to activate the assistant coach free trial now-ish and allow me access to the players selection % in teams to help me put the finishing touches in my team. Is it wise to be keeping an eye on this or should you just not worry about it and try and pick the best 30 players possible regardless of who else has them ?

Uniqueness can be a good factor to put some ground between you and your opponents, but you shouldn't sacrifice points or convenience just for uniqueness.

Pick the team that is going to get you the most point. If there is a undervalued player who fits into your team structure and theyre unique thats just a bonus.

TheMailman

Only pick them if you think they'd have the same or higher average than the more generic person. If your going to consied 10-15 points per game just because only 3% have them isn't really a good strategy

lollipop man

How do you find out what percentage of teams have a certain player?

Turkies

Plays absolutely 0% in my decision. Pick whichever player is going to score more points, or is more value.

Having a player that not many other coaches have, won't put you ahead of the pack. What puts you ahead is points, so pick players to get the most points.

Scrads you gota good side, no need to change...

Haha cheers man, at this stage Im not changing but there is ooooone player I just want so bad, and especially because he is way more unique than I expected so just getting some opinions on how much PODs should matter. Come on chat and talk to me about it man  :)

Virgil

Whether or not a player is 'unique' should have no impact on your selections.

there was a dt talk article on this, apparently the masses are correct circa 90% of the time the trick with going unique is picking the right 10% of the time the masses are wrong on the right player...

Take the players you want and enjory the ride. Are you really going to win the car? Leagues are good to win with a side that doesnt look the same as all the others.

It feels cool to have a unique (I had Stanton in 2009) but it really doesn't get you a whol lot overall ;D
