Anyone else getting Petrie? As a North Fan, I'm defs getting him in as F4 to go with goodes, franklin, fyfe, dangerfield and rookies. thoughts? thx!

4INAROW

not a chance, to up and down for me and wont be in the top 7 forwards imo.

bowyanger

Not getting him but the fellah is a gun.

If he played for the pies , Hawks or Girlong he would kick 80 goals a season easy

4INAROW

yeh won't get enough quality ball to him and most teams are able to double team him with norths lack of quality forwards.

he'll kick bags against gws, gc and richmond and thats about it i reckon.

From a league perspective the Supercoach GF against GWS is great

personal think good unique if u think the roos will make the 8 he  should be able kick 60 +

who would u choose over  hurley or drew ?

gotheroos!

i'd personally pick hurley out of those two. but i already have jobe watson. so ill stick to big drew

Its a fair point about petrie being the only fwd, but robbo and a couple of other journos have said that robbie tarrant has developed further in the off season.  he played back last year to play on the good fwds, to learn how to play fwd and will play as the second tall fwd.  One thing they said was after watching the fwd set up, tarrant is playing wide enough to isolate petrie so he is not double teamed as he was last year.

the biggest example of double and triple teaming petrie came in the first game against the saints when they virtually played their whole team in norths fwd line and the ball just came in and back out for the entire last quarter, and petrie could not get near it with mcevoy also dropping back and taking many marks in defence.  north are trying to stop this from happening this year by setting up differently.

having said that, I'm not selectimg petrie, only because I have my fwd set up in place already with 4 premiums and porps.

I'll be bringing him in in round 12. GUN, and he's in the good books due to serving me well last year.
