We have until tomorrow for Couch, but today is the celebration of the 85k man Magner :)

Melbourne can elevate about three rookies, but they only faced a deadline on one of those elevations.  If a player is being elevated to cover a LTI, I don't think there's any deadline.

It says deadline is 2pm tuesday?? That has already passed so doesn't that mean Couch won't be elevated?

Read what Virgil said above you. I think he is correct.

Read the initial post. It shows how irrelevant the other two players are :P

(sorry guys if you read this, it's DT purposes)

It's my understanding that one player from each club can be elevated prior to the season, then as Virgil stated a rookie/rookies can be upgraded to replace any players on the LTI list. Also, all clubs are able to elevate another rookie from Round 11 onwards providing they have the necessary space on their list/salary cap.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I believe that is correct.

From Melborne website March 10...

"The Demons can nominate a rookie to be eligible for the primary list in the lead-up to round one, given that they have just one veteran (Brad Green) on their list.

Magner is right in contention for this elevation, due to his sound pre-season form.

There are also further opportunities for elevation.  With ruckman Max Gawn sidelined for the 2012 season, and fellow big man Jake Spencer also on the long-term injury list, two other players can be promoted."

Good.

So why not just go out nominate whoever they pick with Magnar? Why select one, then wait. Then select another.

But Magnar was a pretty easy selection for them to make.

In before everyone to say Magner is elevated.

As well as Curnow and Tuohy.

Zorko, Mitchell and Neale would be ahead of him on my list.
