Tdoay was deadline 4 nominated rookie upgrades. Clubs may upgrade rookies for long-term injury list players at any time while player is inj.

Well that's confusing...which is it?

I would imagine Patrick Keane is correct.  The other article is dated 16th Jan, more likely to be inaccurate for mine.

There is a difference between a nominated rookie, and a LTI upgrade rookie.
The nominated rookies are on the list for the entire season and can't be demoted.
A LTI upgrade has to return to the rookie list when the injured player returns.

Some clubs only have 38 or 39 senior listed players and can select nominated rookies to bring up the list numbers to 40. Most clubs have 38 + 2 veterans and can only upgrade due to LTI's.

Melbourne still have another spot open because of Gawn's injury yeah?

Yeah, and Jurrah also has an LTI. Couch and Nicholson can both get upgraded.

I thought that every club had two spots that could be filled by either veterans or rookies.

Most clubs pick veterans anyway so I doubt it matters a lot

Under the nominated rookie rule, a club is eligible to nominate a rookie player who can play during the premiership season and finals series if a club has 38 players on its list (not including veteran players) and it satisfies the total player payments requirements.

Rookies can still be promoted to fill spots of players on the long-term injury list.

Magner ;D :D
Pfeiffer :D
Both will probably be in my team. Certainties if named as expected R1.

I do prefer SC over DT. But if they keep making us pay for additional stuff, that preference will change. :-\

As for the DT post, someone over there already made a thread.
