Hey all, first draft of this team, thinking I'm too light in the Fwds but unsure where to pull from. Thoughts and advice welcome and appreciated. Going for back to back League wins so happy to take a few hits early to build to a kick butt team come finals time.

would defently move scottland outta mids and have in backs or get another mid , not sure how nvb will do but would maybe upgrade him, need a 4th solid defender way too much risk with waters,hargrave golby imo

Scotland sits in Mids as DPP to swap with God or Lids when needed. Bad move still?

Last few games last year NVB was second top scorer in league. I expect big things from him, but with Vince, Danger and McKay also finding form and Thommo being Thommo i can see opportunities may be limited. Maybe just upgrade to Thommo and be done with it.

To do that I need to bring in a mid priced Midfielder. What do you think of Kane Lucas?

Weak in the mids now, but thats ok, most upside of course and I dont mind dropping a game or two early to have a power side later. Forwards do look better now and I feel its quite a strong back line.

What about swapping Waters to a rook and does that give you enough to upgrade a mid to say pendles, selwood etc

Nice - definite improvement from the first to the second. I like the Waters/Golby combo too.

I reckon you could get away with swapping out Lucas or Coniglio for Magnar as you don't want expensive rookies on the bench.

Stick with Dangerfield - he's relishing his new role and has a favourable draw this season.

Personally I rate Shaw over Broughton and would swap them (now that you have the money!).

Will Magner be elevated early on do you think? He didnt play last game... Coniglio would be the one to go which would give me just one GWS player in each line which Im comfortable with.

Agree Broughton to Shaw. Done. Both worry me to be honest... lol

Could lift Caddy up to a MacKay/Gaff/Palmer/Masten now... but I'm inclined to leave it and hold the cash...

Dropping Waters down to a rook (say Yagmoor) would let me lift Caddy to Pendles/Swan/Selwood... does leave the backs exposed though and Waters looks really good so far. Then again it would make for a killer midfield top 4...

Magnar dislocated his finger a week back. The club has said he should be right for Round 1.

I reckon bring in Magnar for Sugar Lucas. As a carlton man, I was originally pretty bullish but since watching his pre-season I'm less so. I think he may end up as the Blues vest man and he went missing for big patches in one game - not a good sign for a cash cow!

If you want a midprice option in the mids, then keep Caddy and Waters (who does look good). If you want a premium then do your swap. Personal preference for that. Will definitely weaken your backline though!

Ive bought him in for Coniglio, Waters for a rookie (currently Yagmoor but will keep eye on selections) allows me to get Mitchell with a big year for the Hawks expected. Swan/Pendles upgrade target(s) later on I think, too rich so early.

Yes, backs are weaker but Ive got a solid fiirst 4. So, lets see if Ive messed this up completely or we're looking good... ;)

Really only Lucas and Golby as mid priceers now and plenty of upside there. I hear what you are saying about Lucas but he's top line of betting for Rising Stars with Sportsbet. The blokes that set the market know their stuff so I'm willing to back him in. Final trick is to make sure my rooks are all playing. Easier said than done :)

Greatly improved side there. Personally i wouldnt get lucas in mids(rather coniglio or rookie)
I dont really liek the midpricers but 2 or 3 in back is still fine.

Only thing is id rather not have the old Scotland (possibly downgrade to a mid-pricer) then you could get 4 gun mids in upgrading lucas or if you like, upgrade 2nd ruck.

But thats just my preference, go with yours, its still good
