Pick 1 from each position which you think will be the fattest cash-cow by round 11/12?

Pfieffer (fwd/mid) PTA
Wingard (mid) PTA
Saad (fwd) STK
Milera (fwd) STK
Schnieder (fwd) HAW
Boumann (def) HAW
Hall (fwd) GCS
Ellis (def) RIC
Morris (def) RIC
Webberley (def) RIC
Ross (mid) STK
Wilkes (def) STK
Ledger (mid) STK

Reading through one of the many 'Bye round strategy' posts throughout the internet it suddenly occured to me that for those wanting to get maximum scores throughout the season including the bye rounds, then, (as tempting as they are) GWS rookies aren't as mouthwatering as they seem.

If i was to stack up on GWS rookies (6-8) i would have to have all of them downgraded to rd 12/13 rookies by the time i got to Rd 11 for my bye strategy to work, therefore burning 6-8 trades just to make money when i have another 9 downgrade trades to follow straight after.

So as long as these players i have stated above play most games and score enough to go up a good 150k - 200k before rd 13 then they don't need to be big scorers because i don't need them on the field.

Obviously there are a few obvious rookies in there but also a few which i'd love feedback on and also if you have some more that you think are candidates, don't be shy.

Would also love to hear your thoughts on this strategy?

Ellis - LOCK
Morris - Solid cash cow!
Saad - Will be up and down but ave 75 I expect...

Justin Bieber

Good poll. I would say Ellis or Morris.

There are so many better rookies than these here in the other bye rounds (GWS) but for what i need to do, i think this is the better way to go about it.

the back rookies are thin on the ground this year

I have found the back rookies relatively easy to be honest between Darley, Bugg, Ellis, Morris and Spurr there is a lott of quality there JS and Score-wise, but mid rooks, apart from GWS are going to be very hard and especilly Bye rd 13 ones at that, is Ledger too much?

Wingard vs Ledger? who wins?
taking into account score, price and JS..

I will have to politely disagree with you on that one Ele. Saad averaged 61 in the VFL last year and that was on the back of 49 goals. I honestly think he'll be struggling to match those stats in the big league.

No worries champ! To be honest this was the one I was most iffy on. I was really going by his first couple of nab's which were pretty good. Poor form by me, it's clear you've done your research :)

+1 - I agree with The Brain. As a Blues / Bullants supporter, I've seen Saad a couple of times and I'm not sure that the way he plays is suited to DT (yet). I'd reckon he'll average between 50-60 and be a bit of a trap (hello Cam Richardson). He's not a bad player, just not for fantasty.
