Does everyone with the 1/3 structure plan to upgrade Giles or keep him as third ruck for the year?
Depends how well he goes. If he's killing it then probs upgrade, if he showers than probs a double trade with another ruck to get the $$$

Right. So if he kills it and you upgrade then who will be your all important thrid ruck? Redden - who may not be Port's #1 ruck by that stage or Big O - the Cam Richardson of ruckmen? You'd be hoping against hope that neither of your R1 or R2 get rested!!

Mummy will never get rested, just suspended haha

Wow maybe the uniqueness of going 2-2 could be a huge benefit =O

Giles will be the biggest cash cow of 2012

Shouldn't matter too much if you go 1-3 or 2-2 as long as you spend the $$$ saved elsewhere.  If players go up in value then they are obviously exceeding expectations and so your team will also score above salary.

That being said I'm no better off which rucks to select and which strategy to undertake.  Currently Jacobs, Kreuzer (Giles + O)

4 rookie rucks, this is a year you can do it.

Zombie2.5

yeah 1/3 is the way to go, greatly benefits rest of team.
if giles turns out good 80+ then he could be keeper if you wana save the trade. If not cash him IN!
Otherwise downgrade some1 then upgrade giles to premium.

But the midprice rucks are decent this year and any ruck structure will work really, just choosing the right guys
As some said before the money from going 1/3 or using extra money for midpricers and premiums has to be used wisely and that is the only thing

BillyPil

Cox with Kreuz for mine, Giles, Redden on the pine.

Shh don't tell him.
I don't want to win the car, and my team has the ability to pick up the points around the ground. If you can afford to do it and figure out a structure where you earn more points in the long run. Why wouldn't you do it?

Well you have next to no backup strategy if it fails, you're basically stuck
