Premiums from Premiership favourites being rested

So I've changed my team 1,762 times. That's down on same time last year so I'm happy.

Anyways - is anyone factoring this in when choosing their premiums? One only has to think back to when Geelong and St Kilda rested half their sides. Dane Swan has said that he'd be surprised if all Collingwood players played every game this season (assume he is not meaning because they are injured).

So can we expect Premiums from flag favourites - primarily Collingwood, Geelong, Hawthorn, Carlton and, to a lesser extent West Coast (only cos of injuries to Le Cras and now Nicoski) - to be rested later on in the year? And does this influence your decision to pick or not pick em? Are you instead looking at the Premiums from the sides that are not likely to be legit challengers which would mean less likelihood of being rested as we approach September?

Player selection becomes a bit limited if you worry to much about it

You can't worry about it too much. Remember you have 2 on the bench. That's what they're for, to cover when your guns have a week off.

Remember that a weeks rest might allow your premium to play at his best for the rest of the time which in the long run will benefit you. Imagine he's NQR and keeps playing every week and underperforming. It does happen.  Think of Swan last year before he went to Arizona. And Cox towards the end of the year.

Not really Kilbluff; if you were tossing up between say Boyd and Priddis at relatively equal prices - and the Dogs were sitting 10th and WC sitting 4th - there is a chance that Priddis may be rested up for finals but Boyd not. There is also a chance that could be the difference between winning a SC league (or overall even) or not.

It is becoming more common that players are rested - and in most (if not all) cases they are from finals bound sides (for obvious reasons).

I'm starting to think of this approach. Clearly I'm either thinking too much or I'm taking a very strategic approach.  8)

Yes, I take your point guys - but unless I've traded brilliantly I cant see me having a player on the bench that come in and get me the 130 points that say Swan was going to get. No good if its in SC Prelim week and it results in a loss.

FWIW WC play Collingwood in Rd 22 (SC Prelim) - would hate it if I had Pendles, Cox and Priddis with both teams cannot be dislodged from their spots and they rested all three!

I'll let it go then and continue on my merry way  ;D
