Carlton and North Melbourne finished off preseason matches, but I'll be focusing on total scores (and averages) across the entire preseason. Essendon and St. Kilda players had 1 less opportunity to play due to the forfeit.

A full list of NAB cup results are available here, including all of rounds 1, 2 and 3:

And for those whomissed out on the Fantasy Freako newsletters, have a gander.

Club-by-club and by price.

I think Jarrad Redden and Jonathan Giles are clearly must-have selections in the ruck, either as 2nd and 3rd, or 3rd and 4th. Both are decent chances of playing the #1 ruck role for much of the season, particularly Giles.

I believe the hype on Brandon Ellis, and is clearly the best defender of the cheapies. The forward line causes me the most issues, as each of the above have serious pros and cons!

Speaking of headaches, I have a Giant of a one

GWS Giants, under $200k

Name   Team   Pos   Price   Total   Games   Average   $/Point

REID, Sam J.   (GWS)   M   $124,900   128   3   53.00   2356.60

A massive 30 players under $200k played in the preseason for the Giants. Obviously they can't all play all the time! With the exception of Israel Folau (not being mean, just honest), everyone in the above table is a decent choice!

Gun to me head, my choices will be:

Defenders: Jacob Townsend, Sam Darley

Midfielders: Anthony Miles, Stephen Clifton, James McDonald

Ruck: Jonathan Giles

Forwards: Devon Smith, Adam Tomlinson

Best player $140k - $280k

Name   Team   Pos   Price   Total   Games   Average   $/Point
GOLBY, Mitchell   (BRL)   D   $265,200   304   4   85.25   3110.85
MASTEN, Chris   (WCE)   M   $278,500   303   5   75.40   3693.63
PARKER, Luke   (SYD)   M   $244,200   291   5   68.00   3591.18
JETTA, Lewis   (SYD)   M   $219,100   262   5   65.00   3370.77
MCPHEE, Adam   (FRE)   F   $274,900   261   5   63.80   4308.78
HILL, Josh   (WCE)   F   $276,600   260   5   63.40   4362.78
HARGRAVE, Ryan   (WBD)   D   $232,700   258   4   88.00   2644.32
MAGUIRE, Matt   (BRL)   D   $225,900   257   5   64.60   3496.90
HOWARD, Christian   (WBD)   D   $251,400   251   5   65.20   3855.83
MCCARTHY, John   (PTA)   M   $251,000   247   4   66.25   3788.68

I think Mitchell Golby has convinced me, as has Ryan Hargrave. The others in that list I'm not so sure. Have been burnt by Chris Masten before, though Luke Parker would be an interesting selection.

Essendon and St. Kilda Players

Having played 1 less match, I thought it was fair to do a brief run-down on them.

Name   Team   Pos   Price   Total   Games   Average   $/Point
HOWLETT, Ben   (ESS)   M   $409,700   226   4   72.00   5690.28
MELKSHAM, Jake   (ESS)   M   $344,400   224   4   74.00   4654.05
JONES, Clinton   (STK)   M   $384,700   222   3   88.33   4355.09
WATSON, Jobe   (ESS)   M   $492,500   215   2   107.50   4581.40
HIBBERD, Michael   (ESS)   D   $348,400   206   4   69.00   5049.28
STANTON, Brent   (ESS)   M   $528,300   205   2   102.50   5154.15
RYDER, Patrick   (ESS)   R   $394,400   202   4   58.75   6713.19
LEDGER, Thomas   (STK)   M   $163,200   199   4   66.50   2454.14
MONFRIES,Angus   (ESS)   FM   $393,800   195   4   65.75   5989.35
GODDARD, Brendon   (STK)   DM   $474,200   188   4   59.25   8003.38

From that list, Thomas Ledger is an exciting choice, while I doubt Jobe Watson and Brendon Goddard would let you down. Patrick Ryder is someone I'm still considering.

HALE, David   (HAW)   FR   $342,800   296   3   98.67   3474.32

Freo! Greg Broughton is just about a certainty, but Paul Duffield burnt me a lot last year. While Patrick Dangerfield looks set to step up this year, particularly with Adelaide looking on the up.

You can't go too much wrong with premiums, though having said that Nathan Jones would be a risk. But perhaps he is ready to take the next step?

Give it a break, just saying FGS.
Sorry I forgot to hit the 'thanks' button.

mezzoculo, I'm using AFL.com Match Centre for the Final NAB round (TOG%) along with Freako R3 (pp/100min) until something comes along - and it will.... in a million flavours....

True :) The fantasy freako newsletters attached do that

Cheers all!

Btw, Time on ground isn't all it is cracked up to be. If you don't play full games during the preseason as a rookie, what are the odds you'll be doing that in the real thing?

Yeah, it can be misleading as it takes into account time spent sitting on the pine during rotations. 'Percentage game time subbed' would be more informative, but who the hell would have that info?!
