For 10 years between 1897 and 1907, St Kilda failed to register 100 points in a match.
That is an all time league record. Of course, the skill level back then was terrible and 100 points would have been a much rarer occurrence.
But for five years (from round 7 1951 to round 11 1956), the same thing happened, to the same team.

St Kilda are second on the all time list (behind University) of losing streaks. 48 games went begging between 1897 and 1899.

St Kilda hold the equal record for worst accuracy in a match (with the highest score - 0.18.18)

On four occasions, St Kilda have gone without winning a game in a season (1897-99, 1902). This is the most in league history.

St Kilda hold 7 of the top 10 records for worst scoring percentage in a season and are sitting at number 11 as well. (1898 - 23.22, 1897 - 29.09, 1901 - 32.14, 1898 - 32.67, 1900 - 37.46, 1902 - 41.88, 1955 - 45.39)

2 of the top 3 greatest winning margins in history have been against St Kilda (178 points vs. Collingwood 1979, 171 points vs. South Melbourne 1919)

Add to that their 26 Wooden Spoons and their mere solo Premiership in over 100 years of competing.

On the all-time ladder, St Kilda are 3rd last (or 17th). They are the lowest of any team currently playing, having won only 38.72% of all their matches and an all time scoring percentage of only 87.93%.

If that's not the worst team in history I don't know what is.

EDIT: I think St Kilda is worse than University just based on the fact that the Saints have had 102 years to get it right, and look at the stats.

Most of those stats are during the same time (1897-1910) and are basically the same thing but in different words. I'm a Saints supporter and I couldn't care less about stats that are 100 years old! The present is what matters and at the moment the Saints aint' going too bad.

unfortunately for you big feller. When your the showerest team in the history of the AFL but long long way, your gonna hear about it. Your gonna heard about it alot.

I wouldn't be talking up the present too much either. A spanking at the hands of the mighty bombers, a demorlising embarrassing loss to the Roos and currently only beating Melbourne due to them tanking and letting Nicole Riewoldt into the game.

So yes in conclusion shower is understatement mate, and get use to it, you guys are the whipping boys of the AFL
