A busy Friday Night, with some interesting fantasy results.

A full list of NAB cup results are available here, including all of rounds 1, 2 and 3:

2012-dt-nab-cup-and-challenge-statistics-round-4

And for those whomissed out on the Fantasy Freako newsletters, have a gander.

Club-by-club and by price.

Best Cheapie (< $140k)

Collingwood

The Pies have big hopes for Jackson Paine (57 points), but as tempting as his multi-position status, it is likely he'll take a couple of years to develop.

St. Kilda

All the rage was over Ahmed Saad (49) and Terry Milera (31), but I'm unsure if they've had a good enough preseason to justify a spot in my team. Forwards are a bit thin though.

Port Adelaide

Aaron Young (61) and Darren Pfeiffer (58) were the best performed of the night for the Power, and if Pfeiffer is named round 1, I think he'll slip into my team. Jarrad Redden (37) was quiet last night, but looks to have done enough to start in round 1 as Port's ruck.

Melbourne

Troy Davis (49) is a defender who played in the Demons last 3 practice matches, without spectacular results. There could be better options, but there could be worse.

Fremantle

Rocketing into contention is Docker's defender Lee Spurr (70), the best performed of the rookies last night. Will he be named round 1?

Hawthorn

The only rookie played last night was Jarrad Boumann (19), and would struggle to make the Hawk's line-up.

Best player $140k - $280k

Collingwood

Is Marty Clarke (58) good enough for the Pies best 22? I'm unsure. If he is named round 1, it will be tough not to select him, but his preseason hasn't been spectacular.

St. Kilda

With Lenny Hayes (0) being subbed off in the first few minutes, Tom Ledger (98) got time to shine, and shine he did. 98 points was a very impressive effort. Jarryn Geary (88) did well, but won't be in my team.

Port Adelaide

81 points to Cameron O'Shea isn't likely to convince me to pick him.

Melbourne

The Demons love Sam Blease (58), but has not done enough to justify his awkward price.

Fremantle

Will a new coach help Jack Anthony (78)? Uncertainty surrounds his place in Freo's team. I wouldn't trust Adam McPhee (69) either.

Hawthorn

Ben Stratton (42) the best in this price range.

Best Player $280k - $420k

Collingwood

If Darren Jolly (88) has returned to his 2010 form, he could be a fantastic #2 option. This one is going to cause me some headaches. Chris Dawes (84) could have a new role pinch-hitting in the ruck, and injury free would be a unique option.

St. Kilda

Nick Riewoldt (83) tempts me. A superstar not that long ago, a new coach, injury free and new motivation? An outstanding game from Clinton Jones (124) but at that price there are much better options.

Port Adelaide

The year of Robbie Gray (116)? Has been seen as a viable fantasy option for years, but for some reason has never really delivered. In any other team would be a certainty, but at Port he still has some risk. Kane Cornes (119) looked sharp, but has past his primed, while Danyle Pearce's (109) problem has always been consistency. I like Matthew Broadbent (109) but at his price, feel better options are available.

Melbourne

The big Russian Mark Jamar (85) is a viable candidate for ruck #2 at full fitness.

Fremantle

The second big century of the preseason from Tendai Mzungu (120) has got me thinking, as he would likely be a unique pick. Greg Broughton (105) is almost a lock in defense, but if Sandi is fit Zac Clarke (105) is not a viable option.

Hawthorn

Is David Hale (114) the real deal? Has averaged 99 for the preseason, and if Roughy is still a few weeks away and Bailey injured, could prove valuable for the Hawks structure.

Best Premium (above $420k)

Collingwood

Travis Cloke (114) and Scott Pendlebury (114) had outstanding years last year, and show no signs of slowing down. Either are a great option. Many are picking Steele Sidebottom (95) for a breakout year, and scoring 311 points this preseason, will find his way into a lot of teams. Heath Shaw (77) solid preseason continued.

St. Kilda

The Saints midfield of Leigh Montagna (99), Nick Dal Santo (88) and Brendon Goddard (83) will seldom let you down. Monty and God were down last year as opposed to there best, which means they are likely underpriced.

Port Adelaide

A solid outing from the very talented Travis Boak (91).

Melbourne

Can Melbourne's midfield step-up this year? They would need people like Nathan Jones (99) to take it to the next level.

Fremantle

Nathan Fyfe (113). Nuff said.

Hawthorn

The stars were on display again. How many Hawks will you choose? Because Sam Mitchell (121), Lance Franklin (108) and Cyril Rioli (105) look outstanding.

BGK

Windigo

Spurr has to be elevated and Clancee is knocking on the door also.

Fletch74

The Saints are going to be frustrating this year I feel. Just as well, they have an easy draw to begin with. Will have to have a look at Ledger scoring 98 :o

Hale is another interesting player and whether he will assist with the bye situation, and whether he value for money??

Good write up. Just one thing wrong with it you got lenny in the wrong price range

Master Q

Was a bit misleading, I was using that as why Ledger got to play a full game, given Ledger started as a sub

Nice work os

Cant believe the most annoying person in the world Clinton Jones top scored for the aints.
Goddard started ok but it looked like the ball was in the aints HB line for the first half, and then he faded.
NRoo went the other way after starting quiet finished alot better. Still not on my radar though
Poor Lenny Hayes, cant take a trick at the moment. Will he play Round1, my advice rest up champ!
Ledger was not on my radar but he has now got my attention. Although he is cheaper in SC than DT which means he can get sloppy.

Redden got dominated by the big Russian 45-18 in the hitouts and has just confirmed himself on my bench (never to start) this year.
Not a bad effort by Michelle but if he plays round 1 then i will probably be looking to offload him about round 5 as he wont score that high (ave 40-50)

Mzungu looks tempting but he may tag and i think he will ave about 90 this year.
Clarke will always play as 2nd ruck either to Sandi or Griffen this year (just like last year)

Heath Shaw started slow (stats wise) probably because the ball didnt go near the saints forward line till the 2nd half. Finished strong as is a good pick.
Pendlebury or Swan?? Who do you take??? thats the big question, unless you are m0nty who has both.
Still dont think Clarke is worth the risk, but there arent any decent cheap backs out there at the momeent hat will score well potentially

mezzoculo

What happened to Couch in the Dee's game? I thought he was named?
