After all the talk and all the let downs in Australia, Sachin "The Little Master" Tendulkar has finally made his 100th international century. :o

Well done. :)

Surprise, surprise though, he made it against Bangladesh. ::)

More info: http://www.espncricinfo.com/asia-cup-2012/content/current/story/557526.html

Cricinfo have also set up a nice dedication to Tendulkar and the achievement here: http://www.espncricinfo.com/sachin/content/site/

UPDATE: Along with 100 centuries, by reaching the milestone against Bangladesh, Tendulkar has also now scored a century against ever Full Member in ODIs and Tests.  :o

Congratulations, i guess. Maybe this one was against Bangladesh, but i'd be interested to know where the other 99 came against, and whether they were home or away.

I can answer that for you.

Tendulkar has hit 42 international centuries at home, 41 of them away, 17 at neutral venues.

He's hit 20 against Australia, 17 against Sri Lanka, 12 against South Africa, 9 against both New Zealand and England, 8 against Zimbabwe, 7 against both West Indies and Pakistan, 6 against Bangladesh, 4 against Kenya and 1 against Namibia. He's never hit a century against Bermuda, Netherlands or UAE (even though he's played at least one match against them).

Don't know what all the fuss over Tendulkar is lol only seen him in three series (vs England 2010, vs Australia 2011/12 and ~2007) and he's been crap.

Boomz

lol and India still managed to lose...

Went to a test in syd in 03 i think and watched Brett Lee get smacked around all day by him. He was apparently in a slump as well. Australia always seemed to get him out of slumps

Well done to the little master and well done to the bangers as well.

Very slow Hundred for Tendulkar though. Might be his last one day series, though the BCI will never drop him, he will have to retire

With the giant gorilla off his back now, I'd say he'd be able to play with less stress and more ease and could go on for a while longer.

That's right, and i'm the same. But he's nearly 39 now, and he started playing at 16, so there would be alot of time before you started watching cricket where he was hitting centuries. :)

TheMailman

Well I know I was able to be see footage of late 1900's early 200s from Dvds, videos etc.

He really was a great player. 20 centuries against Australia is no mean feat regardless if you've played 30 years or 1 year

PowerBug

I would like to see someone make 20 centuries against a team in one year haha

From what I can find...Tendulkar holds the record for the most centuries in a calendar year when you combine ODIs, tests and T20s with 12.

So, to make 20 in a year would be amazing! To make 20 against one team in one year...never gonna happen. Sorry PB. :P

Jukes

The funny thing is India lost this match. LOL.

Overated hack

Clearly doesn't know anything about cricket...  ???

I'm not an Indian supporter (English), but seriously, any reasonable cricket follower can guarantee you that this guy is a genius. I went to the Leeds game in '02 where he made his 193, simply incredible...
