this kid is in this 3rd season and ment to explode, hasnt done alot pre season and is named as an emergency this weekend... does he deserve a spot on the bench?

Cicjose

no

he will have had nearly no playing time in the preseason and is not likely to play in the NAB final

TheMailman

WC midfield is pretty star studded.

With Masten and co. looking pretty reasonable as well Stevens will find it pretty hard to break into the mids

+1 ... Even if he does break into the midfield, chances are he will get the vest. Avoid IMO.

Zombie2.5

Yeah bit hard for him to break into that mid and for the final, even shuey is emergency so they stil gona fit him in

Colliwobblers

shame he is at west coast likely will play wafl all season (and very likely) might get a few subbed games in the seniors to keep him happy, but I reckon he will follow Ebert to another club if he gets the chance too, West Coast has a log jam of up and coming midfielders and he is at the end of the list.

I'll look for him hopefuly at the same price and at another club next season then I'll get on :)

nostradamus

he might get some games later in the season when masten proves to be fool's gold again

Shuey has an injury cloud hanging over him, that's why he's an emergency. This means that Stevens only just squeezes into the 25... as an Eagles fan, stay away. He'll be a substitute most of the time, if he makes the team at all...

Stevens will be the 2012 Gaff

Pretty much what I was getting at, but Gaff seems like the better player...

Depends if the Eagles win a flag in the next couple of years.

If they win it this year or next I think Embley and possibly Kerr as well will retire which will open up a couple of spots in the team which Stevens could step in to.

Stevens would be an awesome replacement for Embers!! Someone should tell Stevens to just be a little more patient :)

D.Zanetti

I agree, I'd love to see Embers retire gracefully instead of being kicked out of the team like almost happened in the end of 2010 had he not had a superb 2011 :) he's living with Scooter & Shuey for now who're both helping him along & I reckon Shuey would encourage him to stay as they've had such a similar experience at the club.

elephants

That's good that he is staying with Scoot and Shuestar. Both have openly expressed their love for the club so hopefully it can rub off on him :)
