Well after punching a few numbers i for 1 may need to reconsider my thoughts with my backline. With Carrazzo, Shaw, Lids and Enright all around the same price i thought i wouold compare their scores with the teams they each play in the 1st 7 weeks of the season.

Carrazzo - avg of 93 but saying he scores 100 against GWS hes average would be 94
Shaw - avg of 84
Enright - avg of 90
Deledio - avg of 95

I know there is alot of "factors" throughtout the last 3 seasons and even with each game they played someone but this is just the plain of figures! I know Lids is going in a lil rough but u wouldnt have thought he would drop his avg by anymore than 2-3 over the 1st 7 weeks.

Other interesting thoughts with the 1st 7 games...
Carrazzo loves Richmond and Essendon, scores well against Bris, Freo and Saints but plays horrible against Magpies
Shaw loves Bulldogs and Hawks but is well below what i would call par for the other 5
Enright loves Melbourne, Adelaide and Freo but not flash at all against the other 4
Deledio only doesnt play well against Carl, Melb and Syd.

Anywho take what u may out of it but i know ive changed by backline

;D

Great number crunching champ! Shaw's average looks slightly lower than I would expect from a premium backmen... but he is a LOCK for me :)

I would expect his average against to Lions and Port to seriously improve on those figures above this year...

Even if he increases his avg for those to teams to 85-88, his overall avg will still b below 90. Still the worse out of all 4! Just thought its interesting to still c

i think average of three years is kind of so so, i see the relevance but also at the same time you can't base it on that.
for a back those scores  of
Hawks - 93
Tigers - 88
Blues - 84
Port - 77
Bombers - 83
Dogs - 101
Lions - 62

i would only be super unhappy with the lions 62 from shaw, still an average of 87 from the other six is a bit of a concern
